What needs to happen for the Ravens to make the playoffs
At this point, Baltimore’s path to the postseason hinges on winning immediately and getting help from the AFC North race.
The Ravens’ clearest path: win and get help from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Baltimore’s most realistic route into the playoffs is tied directly to the AFC North.
Here’s what needs to happen:
- The Ravens must win in Week 17 (@ Packers)
- The Steelers must lose or tie (@ Browns)
If both things happen, the Ravens stay alive in the division race heading into Week 18, keeping a potential playoff spot on the table.
However, even in that scenario, the Ravens would likely need:
- Another win in Week 18 (@ Steelers)
- Additional help in tiebreakers, depending on how the Steelers finish
What happens if the Ravens don’t get help?
The Ravens’ margin for error is gone.
Baltimore will be eliminated from playoff contention in Week 17 if either of the following happens:
- They lose or tie (@ Packers)
- The Steelers win or tie (@ Browns)
That means Baltimore could be eliminated even with a win if Pittsburgh also notches a victory.
At this stage, Baltimore is playing under playoff pressure where every result matters, including games they aren’t involved in.
