CeeDee Lamb was all smiles on Tuesday as he finally put ink to paper on the contract extension he’s been waiting for the Cowboys to give him for months. Lamb held out from practices throughout the entire offseason, including all of preseason, waiting for that deal to get done.

When the Cowboys announced they would be giving him a four-year, $136 million contract extension on Monday, the whole Cowboys fanbase breathed a collective sigh of relief. He’s back.

Lamb back with the ‘Boys

Now all that’s left is to get back to practice with the team. Lamb has been training and working out hard all summer long on his own in Houston, Texas while the team held their training camp in Oxnard, California. Last week, they made their way back to Texas and hosted the Los Angeles Chargers in their final preseason game.

The deal with Lamb got done just in time for him to join his teammates in Frisco as they finish the rest of training camp at The Star.

On Tuesday, just as the Cowboys were making their final roster cuts, CeeDee was signing the deal. In a video message he left for the fans, Lamb looked smitten to be back.

What’s up, Cowboy nation? It’s your boy, back in the building. I’m happy to be back. Can’t wait to see y’all at home, away, where ever - I know you travel well. Go nuts, every game. Plenty of touchdowns. And a lot more of that comin’! Love y’all.”

Lamb had his best season yet last year, with 135 receptions for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns, adding two rushing touchdowns to that and earning first-team All-Pro Honors and his third Pro Bowl nod. He’ll be looking to expand on that this season as the Cowboys prepare for their opener against the Browns in Cleveland on Sunday, September 8.
