CeeDee Lamb gets “jacked” and McCarthy and Prescott notice

CeeDee Lamb spent his summer not in Oxnard, California with his teammates, but rather in South Florida and Houston, Texas, training in high humidity and heat. Holding out until he got his four-year, $136 million contract extension, the Dallas Cowboys’ All-Pro wide receiver may have missed practice, but he never missed a workout, and it shows.

What did Dak Prescott say about CeeDee Lamb’s new aesthetic?

While he was away from the team, Lamb gained nearly 15 pounds of lean muscle.

“I feel like I’m not missing a beat,” Lamb said after returning to practice with the Cowboys. “The two hours outside in the Florida weather was not pleasant...Coming back indoors, I can breathe a little bit more. Physically prepared for these moments again. I’m ready to go to battle.”

Those around him can’t help but notice the changes in Lamb’s physique either, including quarterback Dak Prescott and coach Mike McCarthy.

“CeeDee’s jacked!” McCarthy said. “It’s great to have him. He walks into the room with that big smile, he just lights up the room. It’s been awesome having him back.”

Prescott, who threw to Lamb for 135 receptions last season, had jokes to crack.

“He’s wearing a lot more sleeveless shirts,” Prescott laughed. “As long as the speed is there, and it looks like it is, I’m fine with however big he is.”

Lamb feels “more prepared than ever” coming into this season, despite missing all of training camp in Oxnard.

“I got a little more body armor on me, so I can take a couple more hits. I’m prepared for my opportunities...Quite honestly, I don’t think it’s gonna be a step behind, at all. I’m ready,” Lamb said. “I’ve played this game my whole life. I gotta get bumped a little bit. Those are things, contact violence, but I trained for those. I feel like I’m more prepared than ever.”
