Week 2 of the 2022 NFL campaign will kick off with a matchup that promises a constant scoring exchange when the Los Angeles Chargers visit Arrowhead Stadium to face the Kansas City Chiefs. However, the Bolts could come to KC with a reduced group of WRs in the face of Keenan Allen’s injury.

Los Angeles head coach Brandon Staley said that there is no good prognosis regarding Allen’s participation in Thursday Night Football, and that the hamstring injury that will sideline him will take a while to improve.

“We’re working on that right now,” the coach. “At 11:30 I had an appointment with the doctors and stuff. Evaluations are progressing as we speak.”

Allen only played 22 snaps during the Chargers’ 24-19 victory over the Raiders. In his time inside the grid he accumulated four receptions and 66 yards (leader of Los Angeles).

Without Allen, Justin Herbert will have to fall back on a corps of wide receivers headed by Mike Williams and Joshua Palmer; other options are DeAndre Carte and Jalen Guyton.

JC Jackson close to debut

Another possible absence among the Chargers when they face Patrick Mahomes is J.C. Jackson. The defensive back missed the game against the Raiders with an ankle injury and Staley explained that they will take it easy, but the CB has a chance to play on Thursday .

The coach said they will monitor the progress of Jackson closely. “We’ll see him on the field on Wednesday and we’ll see where he’s at,” he said. “He’s in a better place than yesterday. I would say 50/50 for the game.”
