Chargers vs Jaguars NFL Wild Card Weekend injury report: Will Trevor Lawrence play?
As we head into the NFL’s Wild Card weekend, the Los Angeles Chargers and Jacksonville Jaguars have released their final injury report
With the game plans laid on and the final training sessions done, the Los Angeles Chargers and the Jacksonville Jaguars head into the NFL Wild Card weekend with a few question marks hanging over their heads.
Los Angeles Chargers injury list
Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams did not participate in the week’s practices, and although he will travel with the team, the final decision to play him or not will be left until just before kickoff.
All other names on the Chargers injury list managed to participate fully in all practices and are expected to play in the game.
Jacksonville Jaguars injury list
The Jags come into this game altogether more beat up than the Chargers, with five players listed as questionable. The name that leaps out at you is Trevor Lawrence, who is still struggling with a toe injury and saw limited reps all week.
Kicker Riley Patterson has had knee pain, but took part in full practice every day apart from Tuesday this week and is likely to play in the game, while long snapper Ross Matiscik had precisely the opposite experience, only seeing limited practice on Thursday as his back pain means that he is very unlikely to get into the Wild Card match.
It seems almost unthinkable that the Jags will forego playing Trevor Lawrence at this critical point in the season. He has been a consistent addition to the injury report since injuring his toe in Week 13 against the Lions, and even so has yet to miss a game. While he may be nursing it a little, the 2021 number-one overall pick will almost certainly suit up and run his normal game plan.
