The Washington Commanders have enjoyed a fine start to the 2024 NFL season, with their 7-2 record from their opening nine games leaving them in first place in NFC East at the time of writing.

Brian Robinson key to Commanders’ strong start

Running back Brian Robinson Jr. has been one of the team’s most impressive performers so far, registering 461 rushing yards and a career-high (already) six touchdowns in seven appearances. But his momentum has been, and will continue to be, disrupted.

The 25-year-old didn’t play in the Commanders’ win over the New York Giants last weekend because of a hamstring injury, although it had been hoped he would be available to return to action for Sunday’s week 10 clash against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Northwest Stadium in Maryland (1pm ET).

Will Brian Robinson Jr. play for the Commanders against the Steelrs in week 10?

That, however, will not be the case, as Robinson has failed to recover as quickly as had been anticipated. The running back was limited in practice on both Wednesday and Thursday, but rather than step things up on Friday, he wasn’t involved at all.

As a result, he, along with cornerback Marshon Lattimore, have been ruled out of the Steelers game, a considerable blow for Washington and head coach Dan Quinn. Especially considering the opponent.

Pittsburgh have also begun the season in fine form, winning six and losing two of their opening eight games to sit top of AFC North. Like the Commanders, the Steelers are on a run of three successive victories, so something will have to give in Maryland.
