AFC East:
Buffalo Bills: Kim Pegula and Terry Pegula
Billionaire partnership with sports, property and entertainment interests. They have co-owned the Bills in 2014. The Pegulas paid $1.4 billion to assure the franchise stayed in Buffalo after longtime owner Ralph Wilson’s death.
Miami Dolphins: Stephen M. Ross
American tax attorney-turned-real estate developer, who founded housing firm Relating Companies in 1972. He paid $1.1 billion for the Dolphins and real estate in 2008.
New England Patriots: Robert Kraft
Chairman and CEO of the Kraft Group, which focuses on sports, manufacturing and real-estate development. He also founded the New England Revolution (MLS) in 1996.
New York Jets: Woody Johnson and Christopher Johnson
Businessmen and great-grandsons of Johnson & Johnson co-founder Robert Wood Johnson I. Woody served as US ambassador to the UK from 2017 to 2021. Woody paid $635 million for the team in 2000.
AFC North:
Baltimore Ravens: Steve Bisciotti
Recruitment and talent-management businessman, who founded Aerotek. Bisciotti originally paid $275 million of 49 percent of the franchise in 2000 and paid $325 million in 2004 for the remaining share.
Cincinnati Bengals: Mike Brown
Son of Paul Brown, the Bengals’ co-founder and first coach; took over as owner after his father’s death in 1991.
Cleveland Browns: Jimmy Haslam and Dee Haslam
Jimmy Haslam is the CEO of the Pilot Flying J chain of truck stops, while Dee Haslam is the founder of TV production company RIVR Media. The Haslams also own the Columbus Crew soccer team and have a stake in the Milwaukee Bucks. They paid $1.1 billion for the Browns in 2012.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Rooney family
The Steelers were founded by Art Rooney in 1933; his grandson, Art Rooney II, is the team’s current president.
AFC South:
Houston Texans: Cal McNair
McNair took over for his mother Janice in 2025, whose husband paid $700 million for the franchise in 1999.
Indianapolis Colts: Carlie Irsay-Gordon
Jim Irsay’s daughter took over as principal owner after his death in 2025.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Shahid Khan
Owner of automotive company Flex-N-Gate, also owns Premier League soccer club Fulham and paid $760 million for the franchise in 2011.
Tennessee Titans: Amy Adams Strunk
Daughter of Titans founder Bud Adams, Adams Strunk is the controlling owner with a 50% stake in the franchise; other family members hold the remaining half.

Denver Broncos: Greg Penner
The Penner Family Ownership Group bought the Broncos in 2022.
Kansas City Chiefs: Clark Hunt
A family whose fortune stems from oil tycoon HL Hunt, and which has enjoyed business success in energy, real estate, hotels and sports. Clark Hunt took over in 2006 after the death of his father Lamar Hunt.
Las Vegas Raiders: Mark and Carol Davis
Son of long-term former Raiders owner and general manager Al Davis, Mark is the franchise’s principal owner. His mother, Carol Davis, is co-owner.
Los Angeles Chargers: Dean Spanos
Son of Alex Spanos, the founder of apartment developers AG Spanos, who died in 2018. Dean and brother Michael took over AG Spanos in 2005.
NFC East:
Dallas Cowboys: Jerry Jones
Jones made his fortune in oil investments, before purchasing the Cowboys in 1989 for $140 million. The franchise is estimated to be worth $9 billion.
New York Giants: John Mara and Steve Tisch
Mara is the grandson of Giants founder Tim Mara and son of former co-owner Wellington Mara. Tisch is the son of Preston Robert Tisch, who bought a 50% stake in the team in 1991.
Philadelphia Eagles: Jeffrey Lurie
Motion-picture executive who, after working for his father’s General Cinema Corporation, founded Chestnut Hill Productions in 1985. He paid $195 million for the team in 1994.
Washington Commanders: Josh Harris
Harris led the group that bought the Commanders from Dan Snyder for $6.1 billion.

Chicago Bears: George McCaskey
McCaskey is the son of Virginia Halas McCaskey who died in February 2025 and was the daughter of legendary owner and founder George Halas.
Detroit Lions: Sheila Ford Hamp
A descendant of the Ford and Firestone family fortunes, Ford Hamp succeeded her mother, Martha Firestone Ford, as principal Lions owner in June 2020.
Green Bay Packers: Green Bay Packers, Inc
The Packers are run by Green Bay Packers Inc, a publicly-held, non-profit corporation with thousands of shareholders. They are the only publicly-owned team in the NFL.
Minnesota Vikings: Zygi Wilf, Leonard Wilf and Mark Wilf
Real-estate developers whose parents, Joseph and Elizabeth, took the Wilf family to the United States in the mid-20th century after surviving the Holocaust. They bought the Vikings for $600 million in 2005.
NFC South:
Atlanta Falcons: Arthur Blank
Blank co-founded Home Depot with Bernie Marcus in 1978. Blank purchased the franchise for $545 million in 2002.
Carolina Panthers: David Tepper
Former Goldman Sachs hedge-fund manager who owns Appaloosa Management. Tepper paid $2.3 billion for the franchise in 2018.
New Orleans Saints: Gayle Benson
Billionaire businesswoman who took over as Saints owner from her husband, Tom Benson, when he died in 2018.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Glazer family
Real-estate magnates who also own Premier League soccer club Manchester United.

Arizona Cardinals: Michael Bidwill
Bidwill inherited ownership of the Cardinals from his father, Bill Bidwill, who was either co-owner or sole owner of the franchise from 1962 to his death in 2019.
Los Angeles Rams: Stan Kroenke
Real-estate mogul who owns several other sports teams, including NBA franchise the Denver Nuggets and Premier League soccer side Arsenal as well as the Colorado Avalanche and Colorado Rapids (MLS).
San Francisco 49ers: Denise De Bartolo York and John York
Billionaire businesswoman York, whose father, Edward DeBartolo Sr, bought the 49ers in 1977 for $15 million, took over control of the franchise from her brother, Edward Jr, in 2001.
Seattle Seahawks: Jody Allen
A businesswoman, entrepreneur and philanthropist, Jody Allen is the sister of Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, and took over ownership of the Seahawks following his death in 2018.
