Could Pittsburgh Steelers vs Buffalo Bills Wild Card Round game be pushed back to Tuesday?

While there was going to be plenty of snow, few could have predicted the level of disruption. As things stand the Steelers and Bills could face a problem.

With the Pittsburgh Steelers vs Buffalo Bills Super Wild Card Weekend game now postponed until Wednesday, whoever wins will be facing a disadvantage of sorts in the Divisional Round. That’s not ideal in the least when there is a spot in the AFC title game at stake.

What’s the deal with the Steelers & Bills

Given the time of year, it’s no surprise that we’ve got plenty of powder on the ground. Yet, one has to admit that the conditions in Buffalo this weekend were in a word, unprecedented. Aside from the record-low temperatures and an immense amount of snow, there was also the consistency of it all i.e., Buffalo got blanketed. To that end, the Wild Card Round game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills was finally postponed until Monday. That’s where the complications come in. To be clear, whoever wins on Monday will be facing a short week as they prepare for the Divisional Round contest.

Should the Bills win then they will be at home to face the defending champions, Kansas City Chiefs, next Sunday. If on the other hand, it’s the Pittsburgh Steelers who emerge victorious, then they will face the the Baltimore Ravens in Baltimore on Sunday. Of course, a lot of things have to happen before either of those games can take place, and the first of those is the postponed game between the Steelers and Bills on Monday at 4:30 p.m. That said, reports have indicated that the game could actually be pushed back to Tuesday.

How bad is it in Buffalo?

Though reports suggest that winds won’t be as extreme, the mercury is going to drop on Monday and Tuesday compared with what it will be on Sunday. To be clear, the highs for Monday and Tuesday are currently set at 21 and 19 degrees, respectively, while Sunday’s high is expected to reach 27 degrees. As per reports, the chance of precipitation is also expected to decline. Following a walk-through on Sunday, the Steelers are slated to depart for Buffalo at 3 p.m. ET, traveling with the assumption that they will be facing the Bills on Monday.
