GAME SUMMARY: Cowboys suffer 31-10 loss to Bills
Today's game in Buffalo was ALL about the Bills as they came away with a huge 31-10 win over the Dallas Cowboys at Highmark Stadium.
James Cook on fire
Of the Bills’ four touchdowns, running back James Cook scored two. He had himself an incredible night, finishing with 179 rushing yards and the two touchdowns - one rushing and one passing. His total yards were more than the entire Cowboys offense (195).
The rest of the Bills’ offense
Quarterback Josh Allen finished just 7-of-15 for 94 yards and one touchdown and ran for 24 yards and a touchdown on eight carries. Latavius Murray got the opening touchdown on a 2-yard run. Running back Ty Johnson ran for 54 yards for nine carries.
Buffalo outplayed Dallas in every category, rushing for 266 yards, holding the ball for 10 minutes longer than the Cowboys, and getting 28 first downs to the Cowboys' 14.
Cowboys in the playoffs
The Cowboys had already clinched their playoff berth before the game began thanks to losses by the Packers and Falcons on Sunday and the Lions beating the Broncos on Saturday. Still though, this loss to the Bills harmed their chances of taking the NFC East title from the Eagles as well as Dak Prescott’s chances at winning the MVP award. Prescott completed 21-of-34 passes for 134 yards for no touchdowns, an interception, and was sacked three times. In fact, the Cowboys’ only touchdown came with just 2:48 left in the game on a 3-yard run by wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.
Cowboys' costly penalties - what's new?
As usual with Dallas, they had a plethora of costly penalties. On the opening drive, the defense nearly held the Bills out of the end zone, but a Roughing the Passer call on DeMarcus Lawrence gave them the first down, which led to a touchdown.
That was the first of many.
There were two other penalties that Dallas received which led to Bills' touchdowns - a Roughing the Kicker call on Sam Willams and an Unnecessary Roughness call on Jayron Kearse. That's a lot of points scored after penalties and something the Cowboys really need to work on.
What next?
The Cowboys fell to 10-4 and will face the Miami Dolphins on the road next week.
The Bills improve to 8-6 and keep their playoff hopes alive in the AFC. They head to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers next week.

Is the record a reflection of our team? I don’t think so. But it is the record. The only thing we can do is win the next game, win the next play. Because down this stretch, we get to see what we’re made of. And as a true competitor, if you’re a real competitor, that’s what you want. And I like being an underdog more than anything.”

Cowboys lucked out with weather in Buffalo
When the Cowboys found out they would be playing on the road, in Buffalo, in December, the fear was that they could be looking at freezing temps and a snowy field.
As it turns out, they won’t have to deal with that at all. In fact, the weather conditions are quite good despite a high chance of rain. Temperatures are expected to be around 45 degrees with 15 mph wind. It’s a level playing field for the Cowboys as they take on the Bills at Highmark Stadium today.

Bills and Cowboys - where do they stand in Week 15?
The Buffalo Bills are at 7-6 and in 11th place in the AFC playoff race.
The Dallas Cowboys are tied with the Eagles and Niners at 10-3 and sit at 2nd place in the NFC playoff race. They are currently on a five-game winning streak.
Playoff implications
Although no one thinks the Cowboys aren’t going to make it to the playoffs at this point, a win over the Bills today would clinch their spot. Not only that, but it would increase their chances of taking the lead in the NFC East.
The Bills, on the other hand, would greatly increase their chances of making the playoffs with a win over the Cowboys. Despite their low position in the AFC, they are still in the race after beating the Chiefs last week, and had help from the Steelers, Texans, and Colts losses. They are just two games behind the division lead heading into Week 15.
The Stats:
A win for the Cowboys would mean a 44% chance of taking the lead in the NFC East and a 19% chance of winning it. A loss would mean just a 20% chance of taking the lead and a 3% chance of winning it.
For the Bills, a win would mean a 66% chance of going to the playoffs and 34% chance of winning the AFC East. A loss to the Cowboys would mean a 30% chance of making the playoffs and a 13% chance of winning the division title.
