Cowboys’ CeeDee Lamb on Parsons trade: “Hope he terrorizes those guys…just not us”
As the Dallas Cowboys’ season opener approaches, fans are still trying to come to terms with the Micah Parsons trade...teammates, too.

The Dallas Cowboys open their 2025 season Thursday night against the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles, but one storyline continues to overshadow the buildup: Micah Parsons’ stunning trade.
On Monday, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb broke his silence on losing his star teammate and close friend.
CeeDee Lamb admits Week 4 vs. Micah Parsons will be “the worst”
“That’s my dog, man,” Lamb said. “He knows it. I expressed it to him just about every week I could. I’m obviously wishing him the best. Hope he has the best season ever. He’s unblockable, he’s unstoppable...hope he terrorizes those guys over there.”
That “terrorizing” could hit close to home soon. Parsons and the Packers will visit AT&T Stadium in Week 4, and Lamb admitted it won’t feel right seeing his old teammate across the line of scrimmage.
“The worst,” Lamb said. “It’s going to be weird, it’s going to be conflicting, and I hope he is not in the backfield in two seconds.”

Lamb understands the business side too. A year ago, he was in a similar spot while working out his own extension with the Cowboys. He pointed out that Parsons deserved every dollar of his first big contract.
“This is his first big contract, and I feel like he needs to get everything he deserves, and he did,” Lamb said.
CeeDee in new leadership role
With Parsons gone, Lamb now steps into more responsibility on the Cowboys roster. On Sunday, he was officially named a captain for the first time in his career.
“That’s surreal,” Lamb said. “I didn’t think it was real until he gave me the patch. To lead the troops and for those guys to really trust in me, that speaks volumes about the organization. I’m going to take it and run with it.”
He’ll also debut alongside new teammate George Pickens, a pairing Lamb believes can become special.
“I’m very excited, I can’t even put it into words,” Lamb said.
Eagles on deck
Now, Dallas is preparing to face a tough Eagles team. Philadelphia lost veteran defensive backs Darius Slay and C.J. Gardner-Johnson in the offseason, but Lamb cautioned that Vic Fangio’s defense is still well-coached and tricky to attack.
“His defensive scheme doesn’t really change much. He does a great job of combo-ing receivers and seeing tendencies. For us, we just got to go out there, prepare, and play fast.”
Thursday night’s game at Lincoln Financial Field will also include the Eagles raising their Super Bowl LIX banner. Lamb has no plans to look away.
“I’m gonna watch it,” he said. “Motivation.”
