Cowboys coach: “It’s huge” - final preseason game to decide roster fate
The Dallas Cowboys have one preseason game left and head coach Brian Schottenheimer says it will go a long way in determining the final roster.

On Friday night, the Dallas Cowboys will host the Atlanta Falcons in their third and final preseason game. This is the last chance for players to prove themselves before the team will have to be cut down to 53. For fringe players and those battling for depth spots, Friday’s matchup against the Falcons will be key.

Cowboys preseason finale: Who stays, who goes?
Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer emphasized the importance of this last evaluation window, especially on special teams, where bubble players often secure their roster spots.
“Yeah, it’s huge,” Schottenheimer said. “Constant evaluation, there’s position battles, there’s guys posturing just to make the team for starting jobs or backup jobs. I think the special teams is going to be fun to watch, that’s where guys push themselves over the edge. Last night was very physical, tonight will be very physical.”
Running back competition remains a focal point, with Jaydon Blue, Phil Mafah, and Miles Sanders expected to get significant reps. At wide receiver, Traeshon Holden, Ryan Flournoy, Jalen Brooks, and Jalen Cropper will try to leave a lasting impression.
For many, the next few days will determine whether their NFL dream continues or ends in disappointment.
