Cowboys - Eagles: NFL Week 9 injury report: Tyron Smith, Boston Scott, Chuma Edoga
In this Week 9 NFC East clash both the Cowboys and Eagles have some injury concerns. They will be key in determining who comes out on top.
When the two teams meet at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday night, it’s clear that there will be a whole lot on the line as they fight for supremacy in the NFC East. The question is, however, whether they can cope with the absence of some players, and more importantly, who will be best at doing so.
Cowboys - Eagles: What to know
At 5-2 the Dallas Cowboys currently sit in second place in the NFC East. Ahead of them is the team they will face on Sunday night, the Philadelphia Eagles, who are sitting on a record of 7-1 ahead of this Week 9 contest. Needless to say, this game will go a very long way toward determining who gets the higher seed in the playoffs, something that is of great significance.
To be clear, the Eagles boast the best record in the NFL at the moment with their only loss coming against the New York Jets in Week 6. This is to say, this will be a monumental test for the Cowboys as they look to continue improving since their tough loss to their eternal rivals in Week 5, the San Francisco 49ers. Yet, it’s got to be said that both teams have injury concerns ahead of this all-important clash. Let’s get into them.
Who’s out and who’s in for the Cowboys & Eagles
Though they’ve only got 2 players on the report listed as questionable, it appears that the Cowboys will once again be without their starting offensive line. As you can imagine this will have serious implications against a team that narrowly missed out on a Super Bowl title earlier this year, moreover one that looks to be capable of a similar run to the big game once again. As for the Eagles, they are actually quite healthy where their starters are concerned despite the IR being somewhat longer than Dallas’.
The good news, for the Eagles at least, is that regardless of reports indicating a problem with his knee - he’s been wearing a brace - star quarterback Jalen Hurts will play. Key to the Eagles’ chances will be the ability to protect Hurts from pass rushers like Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence. You can see the full injury report below:
