Cowboys QB Dak Prescott: Injury update
The Dallas Cowboys quarterback missed practice on Friday last week due to ankle soreness, but returned to practice on Tuesday. Here’s where he’s at now.
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is giving fans quite the scare this summer with his ankle issues. Over the summer, he was seen with a walking boot, but assured us all that it was just a precautionary measure. Next thing you know he’s missing practices with ankle soreness.
Okay, okay, so it’s not that dramatic. Prescott only sat out a few practices on Thursday and Friday and didn’t suit up for the first preseason game against the Rams on Sunday. However, he wouldn’t have played in the preseason game anyway, as the Cowboys typically rest their starters and Prescott hasn’t played in a preseason game since 2019.
Prescott injury update: Wednesday, August 14
With that said, it looks like Prescott is already on the up and up. He was able to return to practice on Tuesday, which was a walkthrough before the Cowboys welcome the Rams back for another joint practice today (Wednesday). “If we were in pads today, he would practice,” head coach Mike McCarthy said on Tuesday.
The Cowboys will be back in pads today and McCarthy says Prescott is expected to be a full participant. This will be the two teams’ second scrimmage after their preseason matchup on Sunday saw the Rams win 13-12.
There is reportedly no risk that Prescott will miss the start of the regular season, which begins on Sunday, September 8 when the Cowboys take on the Cleveland Browns at FirstEnergy Stadium.
