Thomas' TD return from the onside kick

Seibert's onside kick on the last-ditch effort here ended up getting picked up by special teams ace Juanyeh Thomas and returned 43 yards for another Dallas touchdown, sealing the victory.

Immediate regret

It started with a low snap and ended with a missed extra point. 

But that STILL wasn't the end of the game...

McLaurin's incredible 86-yard TD

All the Cowboys needed to do to end the game here was tackle Terry McLaurin in bounds and let the clock run out. Instead, they let him get away for an 86-yard TD run.

The Commanders didn't try for 2, instead opting to tie the game with the extra point with 21 seconds left in the game, which they'd come to regret.

Best highlight of the game - Turpin's 99-yard TD return

Just when it looked like the Commanders might make a comeback, Turpin did THIS. He muffed the punt, recovered it, spun away from the defense, and ran 99 yards into the end zone.

Ertz TD + 2-point conversion

Daniels made the TD pass to Ertz. Jayden Daniels then ran in the 2-point conversion to bring the score to 20-17.

Schoonmaker's 22-yard TD

TE Luke Schoonmaker was wide open for this TD pass in the 4th quarter to extend the Cowboys' lead, and that's when things started to get crazy...

Cooper Rush's TD pass to Jalen Tolbert gave them their first lead of the game in the 3rd quarter.

Jayden Daniels made the Commanders' first TD himself on a 17-yard run. Unfortunately, Seibert missed the PAT.

The Cowboys may be down several players, but they will have cornerback DaRon Bland back for the first time this season. The NFL leader in interceptions last year and record setter for pick-sixes in a season, missed the first 10 games this season with a foot injury. He's finally back to face the divisional rivals.

Who is Cooper Rush, the Cowboys starting QB against the Commanders in week 12? Career stats, salary, contract...

Cooper Rush is set to remain as the Cowboys' starting QB with Prescott out, although head coach Mike McCarthy said he regretted not giving Trey Lance playing time last week. So we may just see a little of him this week as well. 

Rush improved in his second week starting for Dallas last week with career-highs in attempts (55) and passing yards (354), but was only able to notch one touchdown in their 34-10 loss to the Texans.

The Commanders and Cowboys released their final inactives for the game today and, as expected, the Cowboys' list is much more extensive.

Commmanders' injuries

Cornerback Marshon Lattimore was ruled out earlier this week as he has been dealing with a hamstring injury since they acquired him ahead of the trade deadline and has yet to make his debut with the Commanders. 

The Commanders also listed linebacker Nick Bellore, who is dealing with a knee injury, as questionable. However, he was a full participant in practice on Friday, so he's trending in the right direction to be able to play.

They also listed four players as questionable: DE Marshawn Kneeland (knee), G Chuma Edoga (toe), LB Nick Vigil (foot), and OT Tyler Smith (ankle).

Former Cowboys turned Commanders reflect ahead of rivalry game

It may be true that the Cowboys are not in playoff contention the same way the Commanders are, and that the Commanders are having an unexpectedly great season. But that doesn't negate the rivalry. Within the division, there will always be a rivalry and the one between the Cowboys and Commanders is historic.

However, it used to be Dallas who dominated the rivalry and this is changing this year. Especially considering the amount of talent that left Dallas for Washington.

Cowboys-turned-Commanders 

For one, defensive coordinator Dan Quinn is now in charge of the Washington team as their head coach, and he brought defensive end DoranceArmstrong, edge rusher DanteFowler, center TylerBiadasz, wide receiver NoahBrown and cornerback NoahIgbinoghene with him. Here's what they had to say ahead of their reunion.

“I feel like it’s one of the biggest games for me," said Armstrong. "Every game is a big game, but when you play the team you came from, you have more urgency."

“It’s definitely cool to be in that type of position, rather than being on the other side," said Fowler. "Cool to see what coach Quinn has done since he came here. As far as the Cowboys, I’m going to be happy. It’s going to be really cool to play against them. Playing against a lot of my old friends.”

“It will be cool to see some of those guys," said Brown. "At the end of the day, I’m there to win the game. It’s a division game. I feel like all division games hold the same weight. You got to win them to put us in good position for the end of the year. Division game, records don’t really matter, everyone is coming to play.”

“We don’t look at records," said Biadasz. "We know it’s a division game, and we need to win. I’m always excited about rivalries. That’s what it’s all about. Being on this side, this is our brotherhood now, but I’m excited.”

Dallas Cowboys missing $100m of talent against the Washington Commanders

The Cowboys just can't catch a break with the injuries. On Saturday, the Cowboys announced that guard ZackMartin and cornerback TrevonDiggs would sit out against the Commanders. In addition, wide receiver BrandinCooks, who's been out since Week 4, was still not activated.

Cowboys and Commanders: Where they stand

Both the Cowboys and the Commanders are on a losing streak right now, though they can't really be compared. The Cowboys have lost their last five while the Commanders have lost their last two. 

Where the Cowboys stand in Week 12

The Cowboys are at 3-7 on the season and in third place in the NFC East ahead of just the 2-8 Giants. They lost starting quarterback Dak Prescott in Week 9 and are now playing with backup Cooper Rush, who hasn't been his best self the last few weeks in the Cowboys' losses to the Eagles (34-6) and Texans (34-10). They've been a mess all season and have been dealing with injuries throughout as well. Many issues have contributed to their losing streak, including their inability to stop the run, their lack of a run game themselves, and what looks to be a very poor culture within the team. They haven't won a home game all season and set an NFL record by trailing by at least 20 points in all six of their last losses. 

Where the Commanders stand in Week 12

The Commanders started out the season strong and have only recently started to slip. They are now at 7-4 after losing their last two games against the Steelers (28-27) and Eagles (26-18). They are now in second place in the NFC East behind the 8-2 Eagles. Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels and the Dan Quinn-led defense led them to a 7-2 start, and those last two losses can be attributes partially to the fact that Daniels is dealing with a rib injury. Since suffering the injury in Week 7, his numbers have slipped significantly, going from completing 75% of his passes to completing just 59%. They will be looking to break that streak today against a banged up Dallas team as they continue to get their first season with double-digit wins since 2012.
