Dak Prescott admitted he cried after Cowboys loss to Texans
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is having a hard time with their struggles this season, and an even harder time watching them from the sideline.
The Dallas Cowboys are having one of their worst seasons in years, and it was made worse by the loss of their starting quarterback Dak Prescott. Prescott suffered a hamstring injury during their Week 9 game against the Atlanta Falcons and had to have season-ending surgery, leaving Cooper Rush to fill in for him.
Although the season was already on a downward spiral, it’s not getting better with Rush under center, to say the least. In his first two starts, Rush has thrown for 399 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, and the Cowboys lost 34-6 to the Philadelphia Eagles and 34-10 to the Houston Texans.
Prescott brought to tears after loss to Texans
Their most recent loss to the Texans was a tough pill to swallow for many reasons. It was the Cowboys' fifth-straight loss, it was their fifth-straight home loss dating back to last postseason, and it extended a record of games in which they trailed by 20+ points at home, with six total now.
Prescott admitted that watching brutal loss to the Texans from the sidelines actually brought him to tears.
“The other day, after the game, I guess, it all just hit me,” Prescott told the Dallas Morning News. “Boom, right. A couple of tears came down. This is going to hurt. It’s going to suck at times. You just have to understand this is one of the moments that it does. I don’t want anything right now other than to let it suck.”
Prescott was given a four-year, $240 million contract extension ahead of the season, making him the highest-paid player in the league. While this was already turning out to be a difficult season for Dallas even when Prescott was healthy, it’s become hopeless without him. And Prescott is feeling the weight of it all as well.
