Marion Barber’s cause of death officially ruled as heat stroke

Marion Barber was a running back for the Dallas Cowboys for six seasons. He was found dead in his apartment on June 1, and the cause has now been revealed as heat stroke. In Dallas, the temperatures will be in the hundreds all week, with highs of 104 and little to no clouds. When officials arrived to do a welfare check on Barber, his thermostat was set to 91. According to Barber’s attorney and friend, Billy Clark, Barber was in “tip-top shape” without any underlying health issues that he was aware of.

Drew Fabianich is moving out of the NFL and into college football

Longtime Dallas Cowboys scout Drew Fabianich is leaving the NFL to work with college football, joining the Auburn football program as the General Manager and Director of Scouting and Development. NFL Network’s Ian Rapport reported that Fabianich turned down several other lucrative opportunities in the NFL. Fabianich had been with the Cowboys since 2004. This is a loss for the Cowboys’ front office - they have always had a lot of talent on their roster, which is the outcome of good scouting (despite their post season woes).
