Dallas Cowboys to invest $295 million in renovations for AT&T Stadium
Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, believes that the image quality of the AT&T Stadium big screen could be improved.
During the annual winter meeting of the NFL, the Dallas Cowboys had a budget of $295 million approved, earmarked to carry out renovations on AT&T Stadium ahead of hosting the 2026 Soccer World Cup.
One of the stated goals of the redevelopment is the 11,500 square foot big screen that dominates the area above the playing field. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones believes that the image quality can be improved, as well as renovating the look of the stadium.
“We will make some of the areas more efficient and we will relocate some of the sales positions. In addition, we intend to update and replace anything that appears to be outdated and improve the quality of the screen image.”
The Cowboys’ home, inaugurated in 2009, has a capacity of 80,000 spectators, but can be reconfigured to hold over 100,000. In that inaugural year, Dallas and the New York Giants set the record for the largest audience for an NFL regular season game with 105,121 fans in attendance.

Remodelling everywhere
The 2026 FIFA World Cup has been the impulse for multiple stadiums in Mexico, the United States and Canada to look at improving both aesthetics and capacity. South of the border, Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca, the largest stadium in Latin America, will begin a major remodel from mid-2023, leading the NFL to forego a regular season game in Mexico for next season. Instead, Germany will host two games instead of one.
