Dane Jackson injury updates: What do we know so far about the Bills’ CB’s condition?

The Buffalo Bills 41-7 trouncing of the Tennessee Titans was overshadowed by the horrific injury suffered by cornerback Dane Jackson

It was a routine tackle. A crossing route by Treylon Burkes was defended by Dane Jackson and as he was lying on the ground, Jackson’s team mate Tremaine Edmunds threw a shoulder at Burkes and missed. What he hit was his own team mate, directly in the face, snapping Jackson’s head back in a blood-curdling moment.

As Jackson lay on the ground, immobile, Titans running back Hassan Haskins, in a move that is inexplicable, inexcusable, and bordering on criminal, pushed Jackson over, breaking the cardinal rule in neck injuries: never move the casualty.

Dane Jackson played his college ball for the Pittsburgh Panthers and was taken in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft by Buffalo. As he lay on the field, the stadium became pin-drop silent as he was assessed and an ambulance was driven out to transport him to hospital.

The Bills issued a statement saying that he had full movement in all of his extremities, and was taken to ECMC Hospital in Buffalo, New York, for evaluation which would include a CT scan and X-rays.

Details are still thin on the ground, but Bills head coach Sean McDermott confirmed that the team was “still awaiting word and praying for Dane.”

The entire world are holding our collective breaths and praying along with all Bills fans for Dane. May he make a speedy recovery.
