Update:

The Los Angeles Rams head into the final three weeks of the regular season joint-top of the NFC but face a major injury concern ahead of a crucial game.

The Rams will take on the Seattle Seahawks in Thursday Night Football this week, bringing together the only two teams in the entire conference with 11-3 records. The winner will take pole position in the NFC but the Rams are expected to be without a key piece for the game.

Wide receiver Davante Adams picked up a non-contact hamstring injury in Sunday’s 41-34 win over the Detroit Lions, forcing him from the field. Adams had been playing through a mild hamstring complaint and he did not return to the field against the Lions.

Speaking on Monday, Rams coach Sean McVay said of Adams’ condition: “He was optimistic. He knows his body really well... We’ll see what that means. I can’t imagine that’s good for Thursday with just the short amount of time, but I certainly wouldn’t rule him out quite yet. But it didn’t look good.”

Adams had 56 catches and 718 yards ahead of Sunday’s game against the Lions, second on the team to Puka Nacua in both categories. But Adams’ real value is seen in the number of scores he has contributed, with a league-high 14 receiving touchdowns on the season. Any period of absence will be a blow to the team.

“That’ll be a tough one,” Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford said of Adams’ potential absence. “I don’t know the extent of it. Didn’t look like it was a good one, so I feel so tough for him.”

“He’s been a warrior for us all year, really, to be honest with you. Playing out there for us. So we’ll see. I got a lot of faith and trust in the other guys that we have in our locker room and our coaching staff to put us in a great position to go out there, let our play do the talking and just go play.”
