DeMarvion Overshown injury update: Cowboys linebacker avoids significant injury
The Cowboys keep getting hit with bad news on top of a bad season, and during Sunday’s loss to the Eagles, it looked like they lost another valuable player.
The Dallas Cowboys' season is pretty hopeless at this point, but any bad injury news still seems to sting. One of the few bright spots on their team at the moment is defensive linebacker DeMarvion Overshown.
During Sunday’s 34-6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Overshown had 11 tackles, eight solos, two assists, and two sacks on quarterback Jalen Hurts. So when he went down with an injury, it gave everyone a scare.
Overshown has bursitis, avoids significant injury
Overshown missed his entire rookie season with an ACL injury, but x-rays on his knee after Sunday’s game fortunately came back negative. He is reportedly dealing with bursitis and is expected to be okay.
What is busitis?
Busitis is a painful inflammation of small sacs filled with fluid around the bones, tendons, and muscles. It can be treated with rest, ice, and elevation.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that the injury is not significant, but did not say whether it would require Overshown to miss any time. Fortunately for the Cowboys, the have a little longer rest time this week as they don’t play the Houston Texans until Monday night.
