Update:

The New Orleans Saints played the New York Giants on Sunday and at the end of the fourth quarter, Saints quarterback Derek Carr suffered an unfortunate injury.

What injury does Derek Carr have?

Carr was running the ball when he tried to leap over a few Giants defenders and landed hard on his left arm. At the same time, he also hit his head pretty hard against the turf.

He was taken off the field and into the Saints' medical tent. He did not return to the game at MetLife Stadium. He is being evaluated for a concussion and may have suffered both a head and arm injury.

Head coach Darren Rizzi said Carr is having his left hand checked out as well as X-rays and other tests. Rizzi did not confirm whether or not Carr is entering in the concussion protocol. Later in the afternoon, NFL Network reported that Carr may have suffered a fracture in his left (non-throwing) hand.

Querterback Jake Haener came in to replace Carr when he was forced to exit early. When Carr missed time throughout this season, the Saints started rookie Spencer Rattler, but he didn’t play that well and was moved to third string when Carr was healthy again.
