Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson will be playing in an NFL regular season game for the first time since Jan. 3, 2021, and his teammates are excited for his return. The AFC North team will visit NRG Stadium to face the Houston Texans, Watson’s former team.

Running back Nick Chubb considers Watson to be a special talent at quarterback. The QB ended an 11-game suspension after violating league conduct policies by receiving multiple sexual harassment complaints while still a member of the Houston Texans.

He’s special, he’s a differentiator,” Nick Chubb said at a news conference. “He puts the ball exactly where it needs to be. The guys like that, they’re excited, we all are. We are ready.”

In addition to the suspension imposed by Commissioner Roger Goodell, the quarterback had to pay a $5 million fine and accept mandatory treatment to be reinstated in the NFL.

Exciting offensive

From the defensive end, they are also looking forward to the return of Watson. Linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah believes that the 27-year-old will bring a different face to head coach Kevin Stefanski’s offensive system.

“It’s exciting, for sure. We’re a diverse team and Watson brings a different aspect to the offense, not a different system, but it diversifies it,” the linebacker said. “Will it be a change in our intentions as a team? No, our intention is still to win, work hard and execute.”

However, not everyone is happy about Watson’s return. Some of his accusers will be attending his first game back to make a statement.
