Did Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski almost join the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020?
The football world is abuzz with reports that Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski were all set to join the Raiders before eventually signing with the Buccaneers.
A recent report has come out regarding Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski that shows how close football history was to taking an entirely different turn a couple of years ago.
The bombshell was dropped on the premiere episode of the GronkCast, an alternative UFC telecast featuring Gronkowski, his brothers Chris, Dan, Glen, and Gordie Jr., and his father, Gordon.
Breaking the news on the GronkCast
The GronkCast features interviews for UFC events, and for the show’s debut, the organizations’s president Dana White was a special guest.
He certainly made the episode special- he broke the story that Brady and Gronkowski were on the verge of signing up with the Las Vegas Raiders after Brady left the New England Patriots. White stated that he was the one who had worked to make the move happen, and claimed it would have pushed through, except for the actions of then-head coach Jon Gruden.
“I worked to put that deal together for Brady and Gronk to come to the Raiders, and it was almost a done deal,” declared White.
“And at the last minute, [Jon] Gruden blew the deal up, and said that he didn’t want him [Brady], and all hell broke loose, it was crazy,” he said.

According to the UFC boss, the seven-time Super Bowl champion was already looking at houses in Las Vegas in anticipation of the move.
“Las Vegas would’ve had Brady and Gronk the year that the Bucs won the Super Bowl, except Gruden blew the deal up,” White revealed.
Gronkowski confirmed the story, saying that White described the events just as they happened. He also said that in the end, he was happy that things turned out the way they did, because of the success that he and Brady reaped when they moved to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
