DK Metcalf eating his words after leaving Seattle for Pittsburgh
The grass is always greener on the other side. That’s what they say at least, but DK Metcalf might be finding out the hard way, that´s not always the case.

The Seattle Seahawks have been on cloud nine since winning Super Bowl LX and adding a second Lombardi Trophy to their cabinet at Lumen Field. The New England Patriots meanwhile are licking their wounds after getting dominated for all four quarters. The Pats aren’t the only ones that are trying to recover after Sunday’s game from Santa Clara.
DK forced way out of Seattle
D.K. Metcalf requested to be traded away from the Seattle Seahawks at the end of last season and the team obliged. He was dealt to the Pittsburgh Steelers for a 2nd round pick and a 6th round pick in last years draft.

Metcalf was drafted in 2019 out of Ole Miss, and immediately became a force in the league with his incredible build and amazing athletic ability. The Seahawks took him in the 2nd round, and he was named to the NFL´s All-Pro Second team in his second year after catching 83 passes for 1,303 yards and 10 TDs.
After six years in Seattle, Metcalf felt his time in had run its course and requested a trade. Now a one of the episodes of the Da Get Got Podcast with former Seahawks Marshawn Lynch and Mike Robinson has resurfaced after Seattle´s second Super Bowl title.
Off to sunny, green Pittsburgh
While talking to his former teammate, Lynch, he acknowledged that he enjoyed the time and the people he was surrounded by during his time in Seattle, but was looking for greener pastures after getting to the playoffs three times but only getting to the Divisional Round once. “I had a chance to play with some great players—from [Russell Wilson] to [Bobby Wagner], to [Marshawn Lynch], [Tyler Lockett] as well. I got a chance to meet some greats like Kam Chancellor, Richard Sherman—but you know, it’s just time for me to move on. I think it’s, the grass is greener on the other side,” said Metcalf.

The grass has never been greener in the Pacific Northwest after an off-season in which they signed Sam Darnold who came in and brought some stability to the quarterback position. With Metcalf gone, that opened the door for Jaxson Smith-Njigba to be the main man in the WR room and all he did was win Offensive Player of the Year after catching 113 balls for 1,793 yards and 10 TDs.
Meanwhile, the Steelers made the playoffs after winning the AFC North, but they were eliminated by the Houston Texans. Metcalf meanwhile had 59 catches for 850 yards, and missed the final two regular season games after getting suspended for punching a Detroit Lions fan at Ford Field in Week 16.
