It was during Tom Brady’s third game in the booth for Fox Sports on Sunday, that the former NFL icon turned a few heads when he revealed his personal choice in nickname for Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson during the live broadcast.

Tom Brady has a nickname for Lamar Jackson

When it comes to nicknames, there are usually a few staples that form the inspiration for them. From one’s actual name which can be morphed, to a prominent physical feature, but sometimes they are related to our deeds and that appears to be the case with the nickname that Tom Brady has given to Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. What’s the nickname? “The Eraser.”

Of course, it wasn’t long before word got to Jackson himself who gave his full approval when speaking with the media on Wednesday. “That’s the GOAT, man,” Jackson said. “... One of the greatest quarterbacks ever to play the game with seven Super Bowls. For him to give me a nickname, ‘The Eraser,’ and how he judge my game, it’s dope for me to hear.”

As mentioned, Brady watched from the booth as Jackson led the Ravens to a 28–25 victory over the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium to give Baltimore its first win of the 2024 season - the team now sits on a 1-2 record heading into Week 4. “He’s like superhuman,” Brady said during the Fox Sports broadcast. “I call him ‘The Eraser.’ He just erases things that come up when you see bad football. That [broken play] would be a negative play for almost every other quarterback, and he turns it into another rushing first down. It’s awesome.”

Naturally, Jackson and Co. will be hoping he can take that same approach when they host the 3-0 Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football. Can ‘The Eraser’ perform once more? Where Brady is concerned, he’ll be back in the booth on Sunday as well, only he’ll be covering his former team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they take on the Philadelphia Eagles.
