Having conceded their first loss of the season to the New York Jets in an error-ridden performance in Week 6, the Eagles will undoubtedly be looking to get back to winning ways. The problem is, they’ll be facing the most potent offense in the league at the moment. This is going to be a good one.

The Eagles are more or less OK

Despite last week’s loss, the reality is the Philadelphia Eagles are currently one of the best teams in the league. Truthfully, Philly had what they will be hoping was a singular off night that included four turnovers of which three were interceptions. As star quarterback Jalen Hurts said post-game, “The standard is the standard. Today, we did not play to our standard.”

Yet, here’s the thing, offensively the Eagles are second in the NFL when it comes to total yards per game with 395 and top 5 in the league in points with an average of 25.8 points per game. On defense, they’ve been slightly less prolific with 298 yards allowed per game - ninth in the league - but as you can see they’ve made up for that on offense. Where the injury report is concerned, they come into the game with 2 players out, however, several were limited in practice including Jalen Carter.

The Dolphins offense is lethal but the defense...

Given that the Eagles are currently second-best in the league in offensive yards per game, the fact that the Dolphins are first makes this game even tastier. Quite frankly, with 498.7 yards per game, the Dolphins have obliterated defenses this season - ask the Denver Broncos. The problem is that their defense has been conceding too many yards per game - 395 to be precise - and that’s why they’re currently ranked 20th in that department.

Where points are concerned, they are again the leaders of the pack with 37.2 per game. It will be something to see how they cope with an Eagles team that is solid on both sides of the ball. Regarding injuries, the team only has one player listed as out, but there are several who are questionable, including star cornerback Xavien Howard. It remains unclear at this point whether he will play.
