The Miami Dolphins and their fans will likely be holding their breath at the moment after one of the best players suffered what appeared to be a serious injury during a training camp session on Thursday. While details remain sketchy, what we can assume is that this is not good news at all.

Dolphins’ Jalen Ramsey suffers injury in training camp

According to reports on Thursday, Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey had to be carted to the locker room with what appeared to be a serious left knee injury. The unfortunate situation occurred when Ramsey collided with wide receiver Tyreek Hill who he was guarding at the time. After going down, it was immediately clear that something was very wrong with Ramsey as he clutched his knee. Once trainers evaluated the 28-year-old, he could be seen hobbling to the cart at which point he was taken back to the facility.

Dolphins safety Jevon Holland said he talked to Ramsey for a bit after the play, and that they are very much concerned about him. “Everybody’s worried about him,” Holland said. “I’m not a medical professional, so I’m not gonna try to diagnose him.” As things stand there has been no further word on the severity of the injury, however, it’s understood that Dolphins coach Mik McDaniel will speak with the press before Friday’s practice session, where it is expected that he will give further details about Ramsey’s status.

A bit about Jalen Ramsey

Ramsey actually only arrived in Miami this offseason, after he was traded by the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for a third-round pick and tight end Hunter Long, which is fitting considering that Ramsey is in fact a product of Florida State. A former The former No. 5 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft is a six-time Pro Bowler, three-time All-Pro, and Super Bowl LVI champion. Despite his central role in that Super Bowl victory for the Rams, he was actually placed on the market following the last campaign, after the team set a new record for the most losses by a reigning Super Bowl champion. Interestingly, when speaking with the media at his introductory press conference following his move, he didn’t hide his confidence.

“All right,” he said after being asked whether his best years were behind him. “Did you see me play last year? Cut on the film. You got to really watch it. You don’t become this successful without actually doing good things on the field and having the respect of your peers, media. ...We gon’ see.” For the moment, we too shall have to wait and see.
