Dolphins remain calm ahead of Tom Brady’s visit
The NFL punished the Dolphins by stripping them of two draft picks and imposing a financial penalty for engaging in illegal negotiations with Tom Brady.
On Wednesday, Dolphins and the Buccaneers joint practices prior to their pre-season meeting on 13 August. These workouts received increased attention due to the sanctions Miami is facing for its illegal dealings with Tom Brady. However, for Mike McDaniel, the meeting with Tampa did not have any particular special meaning.
Prior to practice with the Bucs, the Miami head coach assured that the attempt to manipulate the Dolphins did not create a hostile environment between both organizations. He pointed out that the rumors of a possible animosity are unfounded.
“For me, nothing happened. Everyone else is making it awkward. It doesn’t occupy a single iota of space with anybody”, he told reporters in a new conference. “Like the Miami Dolphins, all of our energy is very coordinated and only has to do with us getting better and everything else would be an opportunity cost that we’re not willing to expend.”
Due to alleged conversations between Brady’s team and Sean Payton’s representatives with the Dolphins when both player and coach were still under current contract, the organization lost multiple draft picks, was fined $1.5 million, and owner Stephen Ross served a ban.
