WE ARE BACK IN GREEN BAY FOR THE SECOND HALF OF ACTION. 

Love is 11/15 for 111 yards and has two TDs, both to Jayden Reed. They have been absolutely dominant from start to finish. They have 30 more minutes to hold off this Dolphins offense. 

Tua is 14/19 but only has 118 yards and has been under pressure much more than his 2 sacks suffered would suggest. The Dolphins have 121 total yards after two quarters. 

The Packers played smash mouth football on their second drive letting Josh Jacobs and Emanuel Wilson drive them down the field. It was Jacobs punching his fourth TD into the end zone in the last five quarters. 

On 3rd down, Love connected with what is becoming his favorite receiver, Jayden Reed for their first of two TD connection. 

The Packers lead big after 30 minutes, but they were handed their opening TD by Washington after he muffed a punt and the Packers recovered it inside the 10.

The Dolphins win the toss and differ so here comes Jordan Love and the Packers who get the ball at their 46 after a big return from Nixon. 

Tonight’s odds  

On a short week, at home, in the cold, against a team from Miami, it only makes sense that the Packers are a favorite coming into tonight’s game. They are giving three points to the Dolphins, (-3) and the Over/Under is set at 47. 

This one seems like a toss up for me. The Dolphins offense is back to looking like a juggernaut and they are going up against a defense that is missing their leader. The question is, how do they handle the cold weather? There is no forecast of snow, and the wind shouldn’t be too bad, which will help, but it’s still a Miami team in Green Bay in late November. These are the games that the Dolphins have needed to win, but they haven’t been able to over the last few years. I think Tua and the Dolphins go into Lambeau and light it up on Thanksgiving night.

Dolphins win 33-19.

NFL Standings 

Taking a look at both the AFC and the NFC standings, we see the Chiefs at the top of the conference with their 10-1 record. Right behind them sit the Dolphins division rivals the Buffalo Bills at 9-2 and just behind them are the Pittsburgh Steelers at 8-3. The Ravens are in the mix as well, but they might have to settle for a Wild Card spot with four losses already. Ravens have eight wins, the Chargers have seven and so do the Broncos. That means the 5-6 Dolphins have some work to do and need some outside help if they are going to sneak into the playoffs. 

The NFC is looking just as tight, especially the NFC North which is without question the top division in football. The Lions are 10-1, currently holding the one seed, with the Vikings and Eagles right behind them. The Packers are hanging in the mix at 8-3, but after that it’s a toss up. Two of the three Wild Cards look like they will go to NFC North teams, but the Commanders, Cardinals, Rams, Niners, and Bucs are also in contention. 

Star watch: Packers

Green Bay made a decision to let Aaron Jones go knowing he was one of the most beloved players in the locker room and one of the most loved players by the Packers’ fans. They took a chance on a former rushing leader, Josh Jacobs, and it seems like the risk is paying off. Jacobs is one of three big name running backs that found new homes this offseason and all three are having incredible success in their first year with their new teams. Derrick Henry and Saquon Barkley might be getting all the accolades but Jacbos deserves to be right there in the conversation. He is third in rushing yards with 944, behind only Barkley and Henry, and has 7 TDs on the ground and another 186 yards and 1 TD receiving. He might prove to be the missing piece that takes this team from a good team to an elite team. 

Star watch: Dolphins  

If we needed any evidence of just how important Tua is to this Dolphins team, all you have to do is look at that four game stretch that Miami had without their starting quarterback. In only one of those games did the back up QBs throw for more than 107 yards as the offense averaged 10 ppg. Since then Tua is averaging 255 yards and the Dolphins are averaging 29 ppg. The Dolphins knew exactly how important he is to this franchise, and that’s why they decided to show him the money this offseason. The one knock on Tua, and the Dolphins is their historic inability to win the big one. This one, tonight, with their season on the line, on Thanksgiving, in front of the entire nation, is a big one. He’s got a chance to silence some critics tonight if he has a big game on a chilly night in Green Bay.

Season recap: Packers 

The Packers came into the season with plenty of hope after a surprising start to Jordan Love’s career as QB1 in Title Town. They turned it on in the second half of the season and made the playoffs, and advanced to the divisional round before getting KOed by the Niners. This year, they are expected to go even further with a year of experience under their belts. They lost their opener to a tough Eagles team in Brazil, but then rattled off six of the next seven games. Their two losses following their season opening loss to Philly were against the Vikings and the Lions, all three of those teams are the only ones in front of them in the NFC. Their big wins have come against the Rams, but that was when they were without Puka and Cooper Kupp, and then a narrow last second win over Houston. Since the loss to the Lions in Week 9 they have scrapped by Chicago on a last second blocked field goal, and crushed the Niners last week in Lameau. Like we said, this team hasn’t played elite football yet, but if they continue their form from last week, they might be considered an elite team before too long. 

Season recap: Dolphins 

This season was supposed to be the season the Dolphins got over the hump and won the big one. They gave Tua a big contract extension over the summer, beefed up their offense and made a couple big signings on the other side of the ball. Things took a downward spiral when Tua suffered yet another concussion and was forced to miss a handful of games after being put on IR. The Dolphins would lose three of four of those game and drop down the AFC standings. Tua returned in Week 8, but the Dolphins would lose to the Cardinals and the Bills by a total of four points in his first two weeks back. Since then the Dolphins have played the Rams, Raiders and Patriots and beaten those teams soundly as offense looks like it’s starting to hit stride once again.

Last game: Packers 

Green Bay came out and played a complete 60 minutes of football for the first time all season last week against the banged up San Francisco 49ers. They got the ball to start the game, and Josh Jacobs set the tone early running all over the Niners on the opening drive of the afternoon. Jordan Love hit Tucker Kraft on the first TD pass of the game, and Josh Jacobs would punch in one of his three TD runs on the night to go up 17-0 midway through the second quarter. San Fran scored a TD right before the half, but that was the only bit of success they had against a Packers team that dominated in the second half. The would force two turnover on downs, two fumbles and come up with an interception as Jacobs ended the night with a hat-trick and Love had 163 yards and 2 TDs on 13/23 passing.

Last game: Dolphins 

Miami know they have no margin for error, and acted like it in their game against the Patriots last week. The Pats missed a field goal and were forced into four three-and-outs in their first five drives of the game. Meanwhile, Tua and the Dolphins offense lit up the score board scoring on four straight possession to take a 24-0 lead into the halftime break. Tua would throw his fourth TD of the game to Jalen Waddle in the third quarter and the starters sat for most of the final quarter to get as much rest as they could before tonight’s game on a short week. Tua had 317 yards and 4 TDs on 29/40 passing while Waddle finished the game with 144 yards on 8 receptions as Miami moved to 5-6 on the year. 

We are live from Lambeau 

Hello everyone and Happy Thanksgiving. By now you have probably eaten, taken a nap, gone back for seconds and now hopefully you aren’t stuffed to the gills of football, because we have a good one for you tonight from a frigid Green Bay. The Packers are coming off of their best performance of the year last week when they dominated the San Francisco 49ers from wire to wire. This Green Bay side is in the toughest division in football, and comes into to tonight not only in the division race, but also in the race for the one seed in the NFC. They are not considered elite just yet, but if they play like they did last week tonight against the Dolphins they very well may start being considered a serious contender in the conference. The Dolphins are back in the playoff hunt after a rough stretch that saw them lose six of seven games. Tua is back and so is that high octane offense that was the most feared in the league when the Dolphins were at full strength. They have a lot of work to do, but they have to be focused on tonight’s game before they can go thinking about their playoff chances.

It’s a Thanksgiving night showdown for two team who need a win for very different reasons tonight from Lambeau Field. One team needs to win out after a rough start to the season while the other team is looking to stay in the race for a one seed in the NFC.
