Super Bowl
Donald Trump’s Super Bowl prediction, as he chooses between Mahomes and Hurts
Ahead of the Super Bowl the President gave an interview to Fox News, covering his first three weeks in power.
Donald Trump gave an interview to Bret Baier at Fox News ahead of the President’s appearance at the Super Bowl, where the reigning champions the Kansas City Chiefs play the Philadelphia Eagles.
Who does Trump think will win the Super Bowl?
Asked who he thought would win the Super Bowl, Donald Trump said: “I’m a big fan of both teams. They’re so different and Philadelphia have one of the greatest running backs”, in reference to Saquon Barkley.
But for Trump it’s going to be the Kansas City Chiefs who take the Super Bowl, based on just how good Patrick Mahomes is.
“I guess you have to say that when a quarterback wins as much as this one [Patrick Mahomes], I have to go with Kansas City. I have to go with Kansas City.”
Trump “loves” Brittany Mahomes
He also recognised Patrick Mahomes' wife, Brittany: “He has a phenomenal wife. She’s a Trump fan and a MAGA fan, so I happen to love her.”
Trump on his first three weeks in power
Away from sport, Baier asked Trump about his whirlwind start to his new presidency. The 47th president said that in his previous term he’d had tremendous opposition, but this time he has more experience.
Discussing Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Trump showed full support for the Space X entrepreneur, “we have to solve the efficiency problem.” “Do I trust Elon? Oh yes, he’s not gaining anything. In fact I wonder how he can devote the time to it.”
“He’s so into it, but I told him to do that, then I’m gonna tell him very soon, like, maybe in 24 hours, to go check the Department of Education. He’s gonna find the same thing, then I’m gonna go go to the military, let’s check the military. We’re gonna find billions, hundreds and billions of dollars of fraud and abuse.”
Trump also reiterated his claim that Canada should become the 51st state of the US, saying that the US subsidises their northern neighbour to the tune of $200 billion. (This claim has been fully debunked).
