Eagles lose Pro Bowl offensive lineman to preseason injury
The Philadelphia Eagles had the best offensive line in the NFL last season but they may have lost a key piece.

The preseason preparations for the Philadelphia Eagles have been dealt a blow with news of a serious injury to a key member of the offensive line.
Pro Bowl left guard Landon Dickerson suffered a right leg injury during an open training session on Sunday night and needed to be helped off the field before being carted indoors. Dickerson’s knock came late on in the two-hour practice session at Lincoln Financial Field.
ESPN reports that the injury came when Dickerson went to ground on a pass play. The 50,000-strong crowd went silent as Dickerson remain on the ground for several minutes, his teammates gathered around in concern.

It was not immediately clear what the injury was but Dickerson was immediately taken from the field and replaced in the lineup by Brett Toth. Dickerson is expected to undergo an MRI on his right knee on Monday as the team looks to establish the extent of the issue.
Dickerson was drafted by the Eagles in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft and he has gone on to become a key piece of the NFL’s best offensive line. Since his rookie year in 2021, Dickerson has been named to the Pro Bowl in each of the last three seasons and he was an important part of the team that won Super Bowl LIX earlier this year.
In March 2023 he signed a four-year, $84 million contract with the Eagles that made him the highest-paid guard in NFL history. Philadelphia have a lot of work to do to replace his presence in the line.
