Eagles QB Jalen Hurts joins exclusive NFL club with rushing touchdown against Panthers
Hurts again proved why is one of the league’s top quarterbacks in Philadelphia’s week 14 matchup against Carolina.
There can be little doubt Jalen Hurts is one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL, which he once again proved in the Philadelphia Eagles’ week 14 win over the Carolina Panthers.
The 26-year-old joined an exclusive club in Sunday’s game at Lincoln Financial Field, in which he registered his 13th rushing touchdown of the season. That put him tied in first place with Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry for 2024.
Hurts' rushing TD exploits
Not only that, but it also means Hurts has now hit double figures for rushing TDs in four successive seasons, and at least 13 in three straight years.
The Texan, who was a second round pick in the 2020 Draft, has become only the seventh player in NFL history to achieve that latter feat and the first in 17 years. Running back LaDainian Tomlinson was last to post such numbers for the San Diego Chargers in the 2007 season.
Hurts’ form has played a huge role in the Eagles’ superb form in 2024. Philadelphia are on the verge of clinching NFC East after winning 11 of their first 13 games and extended their winning streak to nine games against the Panthers.
