Eagles 13 vs 12 Bills summary, stats, score and highlights | NFL Week 17

You don't see Josh Allen miss too many throws like he did on this miss to Shakir in the back of the end zone. It would have won the game, and Allen knew he had him but the pass fell incomplete and the Eagles came out from Buffalo with the win. 

PHI have a chance for the two seed in the NFC while Allen and the Bills lost a chance to win the AFC East after New England's blow out win earlier today. 

Allen took the 2nd TD into the end zone on the QB sneak but the Bills wanted to win in regulation. It wasn't an offensive showcase for BUF. Allen had 262 yards on 23/35 passing, and coach McDermott wanted to win it in the final seconds of the fourth quarter. 

Allen and the offense finally came to life, and this pass to Brandon Cooks was the longest play of the night. Have a look at the catch Cooks makes off his helmet falling to the ground. 

The Bills would get the ball back after their defense got another second half stop. PHI had just 17 yards of offense in the second half, but somehow were able to pull this game off. 

BUF looked to be in big trouble on 4th and long but the hook and ladder gave the Bills life for the final two minutes. 

Josh Allen finally got into the end zone with this QB sneak. It took the Bills 55 minutes to get into the end zone but once they did it suddenly felt like momentum shifted for the final five minutes even though the PAT was blocked to keep PHI up by 7. 

After the goal line stop, the Bills were knocking on the door just a few minutes later and the Eagles defense and Jaylx Hunt got to Allen and tripped him up for a loss of 19 yards. 

The Bills had a chance to get on the board late in the fourth quarter but Allen was stopped a half yard short of the goal line and the Eagles defense came up with another huge play to keep Buffalo off the board. 

A few plays after the fumble the Eagles punched the ball into the end zone with a Jalen Hurts play action pass to Dallas Goedert for what would be their only touchdown of the game. 

The Philadelphia Eagles went into a wet, soggy, windy Buffalo and came out with a nasty win that keeps them in the hunt for the two seed in the NFC. It was the defense that ended up winning the game in the end, but they set the tone in the first quarter by forcing this fumble on Josh Allen. 

Allen had Shakir open in the back of the end zone, but he the throw got away from him and the Eagles held on for the win!!!

Allen punched the Bills into the end zone for the second time in 5 minutes, but they wanted to win the game in regulation and ended up going for two. 

Goedert makes an easy catch on the onside kick and the Eagles are going to win this game!!!

Jalen Hurts has made some since plays on a cold, rainy, wet night in Buffalo. He's got 115 yards and a TD on 14/21 passing and AJ Brown has 68 yards on 5 catches. 

Allen hasn't done a whole lot today. He's 7/10 for 90 yards and has run for another 16, but the Bills are scoreless at half and Cook has just 39 yards on 9 carries. 

Seven plays after the fumble it was Hurts finding Goedert in the end zone for the opening score of the game. The Eagles have built up drives since, but they have had to settle for FGs on those drives. 

It's halftime from BUF and the Bills have done nothing on the offensive end. The closest they have got to the end zone came in the first quarter when Allen fumbled the ball and the Eagles recovered it around midfield.

What's left Bills

The Bills take on the Eagles today and then they will have a chance to close out the season on a six game win streak if they should beat Philly today and the Jets next week. They will be trying to close out the season with the AFC East title at least so the Jets game won’t be the final game ever at Highmark Stadium before they pack their things and move into their new home next season. The Bills would love to host at least one more playoffs game in their fortress before saying good bye but they know they need to win out and see the Patriots lose one of their two games against the Jets or Dolphins to have a chance at their sixth straight AFC East title. 

What's left Eagles 

The Eagles have this massive matchup today, and then they return home for a final match up against the Washington Commanders. They are currently on track for the three seed in the NFC, but they could sneak into the two seed depending on what the Bears do in the final couple weeks of the season. The Bears have the Niners tonight and the Lions in Week 18. 

NFC Standings 

The NFC is going to come down to the wire. There is currently sprint to the finish line with the Seahawks in first place in conference at 12-3. The 49ers and Rams are both 11-4, and the Chicago Bears are 11-4 and looking for Seattle to slip up in one or two of their final couple games. The Seahawks have to play the Niners in the final week of the season and that could very well determine who wins the NFC. Of course that depends on who wins the Bears-49ers game tonight. 

AFC Standings 

Taking a look at the AFC Standings, we see the Broncos and the Patriots locked in a tie at 12-3 but it’s Denver that holds the tie break and the one seed in the AFC at the moment. Buffalo are right behind those two teams, with a record of 11-4 and would need a lot of help to take over the one seed in the AFC but they do have an outside shot. The Jags have an 11-4 record as well, and if they were to finish in a tie with the Broncos, Pats or both then the Jags would win the tie break. Of course if the Broncos win out, then they get the one seed. If they lose and the Pats win out, NE get the one seed. If both lose one of their final two games, then things get interesting. 

Bills star watch 

It hasn't quite been the MVP type season that Josh Allen had last year when he won his first Most Valuable Player of the Year award. Last season he didn’t have the most yards or TDs but he did come up with massive plays in big games, and that hasn’t exactly been the case this year although the Bills are 11-4 coming into today. He’s thrown for 3,406 yards, 25 TDs and 10 INTs. He has had big days, and he has had days like last week when he throws for just 130 yards and O TDs. He knows he can step to the plate and lead his team to victory with the home run balls, or he can take a back seat and let James Cook carry this team to victory. Being versatile comes in handy, especially in the playoffs and with Patrick Mahomes out of the playoffs and Lamar Jackson on the brink of getting KOed, this could be the Bills year. 

Eagles star watch 

The Eagles have been winning games but their offense hasn't been the most attractive to watch over the first 16 weeks of the season. Hurts has just 3,114 yards with 24 TDs and six INTs, four of those coming in the OT loss to the Chargers a few weeks ago. Jalen knows how to win games, and knows he doesn’t need to put up crazy numbers to lead his team to victory. That should be enough for Eagles fans, but apparently you have to win and put on a show if you are the QB in Philly. That’s what he’ll be trying to do tonight. 

Bills last game 

Buffalo went to Cleveland to take on Shedeur Sanders and the Browns and had a tough time escaping with a win. James Cook III ran the show, taking his 16 carries fo 117 yards and two TDs in the first half. That put the Bills up 20-10 before the halftime break but, the Browns would come clawing back, and close it to a 23-20 game midway through the fourth quarter. The defense would hold up just enough to close out the Browns and keep the win steak rolling. 

Eagles last game 

Philly had a divisional matchup against the Washington Commanders, which should have been an easy game against a four win team but they were training heading into the second half. Jalen Hurts, Saquon Bakley and AJ Brown finally came to life in the final 20 minutes of the game. Hurts hit Dallas Goedert to take a 14-10 lead late in the third quarter. Barkley would add to the lead just a few minutes later and Tank Bigsby closed out the game with a 22 yard TD run to secure the NFC East title for the second straight year.

Hello everyone and welcome to Orchard Park where the Buffalo Bills are back home for the final two games and rolling into today's game on a four game win streak. They have an outside chance at winning the division but they would need some help. The Eagles have won their last couple games, and secured the NFC East but have no chance at the one seed in the conference. Today is all about getting a tough win on the road and keeping the momentum up going into the postseason.
