Eagles 17 vs 34 Giants summary, stats, score and highlights | Week 6

Skattebo completed his hat trick of touchdowns after the interception and the Giants called game in a stunning upset from New York on Thursday night. Let's see if the Giants can use this as a boost to get some momentum in the next coming weeks. The Eagles will want to forget about their last two weeks, and start looking ahead as they try to figure out a way to straighten the ship after dropping to 4-2. 

The Eagles weren't out of it despite not being able to move the ball after the halftime break for a second straight game. They finally found their flow and had a chance to cut it to a one score game early in the fourth quarter, but Hurts got picked off by Cor'dale Flott and he took it all the way back inside the PHI 25. 

Skattebo came up just short of his first 100 yard rushing game with 98 on 19 carries, but he did add another 12 yards receiving to put hm over 100 total yards. He is a wrecking ball who is nearly impossible to stop. 

Right before the half it was Cam Skattebo getting into the end zone and taking the lead back for NY. The rookie had a huge day as he and his first year QB didn't just lead their team to the win, but they look to have infected this team and fan base with belief. 

The Eagles took the lead on a drive that ended in four straight tush pushes. On the fourth one Hurts found the end zone but that would be the last time Philly even got close to the goal line. 

Philly got back into the game after a slow start and it was Dallas Goedert doing most of the heavy lifting. He had 9 catches for 110 yards to lead the Eagles while Jalen Hurts threw for 283 yards this TD and an INT. Something strange is going on in Philly It seems like they do better when their QB doesn't have a big statistical game. 

Dart would add to the lead when he found Wan'Dale Robinson with this short pass to the right side which the WR turned into a 35 yard TD catch and run to put the Giants up 13-3. Dart ended the night with 195 yards and a TD on 17/25 passing and survived an injury scare after taking a big hit. He went to the tent and missed a play but was back on the next series. 

The New York Giants bounced back from an embarrassing loss in New Orleans and beat the Super Bowl Champs in convincing fashion on Thursday Night Football. Jaxson Dart led the way for the the Giants in the 34-17 win from the Meadownlands. 

The Eagles came out running the ball with Saquon who had a couple nice runs against his former team but Philly settled for a field goal and Jaxson Dart drove his team down the field and found the end zone on this 20 yard scramble. He had 58 yards on the ground on a night that the Giants had 172 yards rushing.

The Giants had a long drive that wound the clock down and they regained the lead with a 4 yard run from Skatteboo. 

The Eagles took the led with four straight tush pushes, the fourth was taken into the end zone by Hurts. 

The Eagles finally got things going with Goedert who leads the Eagles in catches with six receptions for 50 yards. 

The NY D came up with a stop and Dart added to the lead with a short throw for Robinson who broke it for a 35 yard catch and run for a TD to go up 14-3. Dart has 127 yards and a TD on 10/13 passing and he has 38 yards and a TD on the ground. 

After PHI put a FG on the board to start the game, Dart came right out and went at the Eagles defense hitting a big pass to Humphrey and then tucking it for a 20 yard TD scramble.

Brown waiting to passing game to ignite 

Is he pissed off or does he just want to be more involved in the offense? Not for the first time AJ Brown went to social media to vent about his lack of catches this season. That tends to happen when you have an offense that struggles to move the ball in the passing game. He has 19 catches for 194 yards, but that is far from the numbers that he expects to have at this juncture of the season. His one TD came against the Rams during their come back win over LA. It’s been hot and cold for AJ, but we know he and Hurts can get hot in the blink of an eye. 

Which WR will replace Nabers?

It was a bitter sweet win for the New York Giants a couple weeks ago. Jaxon Dart debuted with a win over a Chargers team that not to long ago was bid as one of the favorite in the league. Dart won the hearts of the fans immediately but in the same game their super star WR Malik Nabers went down with a devastating injury. That means he’ll be out the rest of the season and will miss some valuable time to build chemistry with Dart. In the meantime it’s going to be up to Darius Slay and Wan’Dale Robinson to step up and fill the role of top target for the rookie QB. Robinson has 267 yards and a TD on 23 catches while Slayton has 166 yards on 12 catches. 

Saquon's departure from NY

There is no need to remind New York fans about the Saquon saga that went down last offseason. The Giants didn’t want to pay the only superstar they had, and they let him go, to a division rival that went on to win the Super Bowl. I’m not sure what hurt them more, seeing their ex raise the Lombardi Trophy with their bitter rivals or the fact that Saquon dropped 176 rushing yards and a TD in New York to help  the Eagles stomp the Giants. He had a chance to set a career high but he sat out basically the last quarter to let some of the younger guys have their moment in the sun.

Well all eyes are going to be on Jaxon Dart tonight and hundreds of nights to come in New York. That’s the plan at least. Dart was drafted in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft and even before taking a snap in the league people were crowning him the face of the franchise. He had a great debut against the Chargers even though his passing numbers weren’t great but he found out just how tough this league can be against the Saints. There will be some growing pains and New Yorkers are going to have to manage their expectations with the rookie QB. Let’s see what he can do against this stingy Eagles defense tonight at Metlife. 

Star watch: Eagles 

Jalen Hurts had his best game game of the season, but that didn’t translate in a win for the Eagles. He went for 280 yards and two TDs, but most of that was in the first half as the offense shut down in the second half. Philly was winning, but people wanted more from the passing game. Well, take that. Hurts almost goes for 300 yards and Philly losses. Some times less is more and it certainly seemed like that for the Eagles who continued to throw the ball despite being ahead in the fourth quarter. Hurts has 889 yards, 7 TDs and 0 INTs with a 101.3 passer rating. He knows where his bread is buttered and he doesn’t need people imploring him to beef up the pass game just to make Eagles games more entertaining. 

Giants last game  

Following the debut win of Jaxon Dart, the Big Apple was in a state of delirium as their rookie QB looked like he was going to come in and save the season. People got a little carried away after the debut, but then he came out and threw a couple TD passes to Theo Johnson to put the Giants up 14-6 and it looked like the Giants were going to cruise to a second straight win. A one play 87 yard TD drive ended those thoughts real quick and then things fell apart as Darius Slayton fumbled right before the half. New Orleans kicked a field goal to take the lead and the Giants went fumble, fumble that was scooped and scored, interception, interception and turnover on downs in their next five drives and ended up losing 26-14 to the previously winless Saints. 

Eagles last game 

The Eagles went into last game one of two remaining undefeated teams in the league and it looked like they were well on their way to a fifth straight win after going up 17-3 to the Denver Broncos. Jalen Hurts slung two TD passes to put the Eagles up two TDs early in the 2nd half. They carried that lead into the fourth quarter, but the disaster struck as their offense shut down and the Broncos caught fire. After the Eagles scored the early 3rd quarter TD, they got just one first down the rest of the way, and the Broncos came bucking back as JK Dobbins ran in a TD before Bo Nix connected with Evan Engram. Denver went for two and converted it to take the lead with 7:36 to go and then it was up to the defense to hold strong. The Eagles tried a Hail Mary at the buzzer but AJ Brown and Devonte Smith got tangled in the air and the ball fell incomplete. 

We are live from Metlife

Hello everyone and welcome to the Meadowlands where the New York Giants and their rookie quarterback are back at home after getting dealt a dose of reality in New Orleans last week. Things fell apart in a hurry and all that excitement from Dart’s debut win flew out the window as Giants fans felt an all too familiar feeling after the devastating loss to the Saints. Now they have to lick their wounds and welcome the defending champions, and last year’s Offensive Player of the Year who just so happens to be a former Giant with revenge on his mind. The Giants are heavy underdogs tonight against the Eagles who are looking for a rebound, but it’s Thursday night and it’s a division rivalry, so you never know what’s going to happen. 

Eagles vs. Giants 

It’s an NFC East showdown between two hated rivals to kick Week 6 six off from the Big Apple. The defending Super Bowl champions are coming off their first loss and looking to let out some frustration on a transitioning team with a rookie quarterback.
