Eagles 10 vs 7 Packers summary, stats, score and highlights | NFL Week 10

Love got McManus on the fringe of his FG range, but on a freezing night in Lambeau, with a low snap McManus shanked the 64 yard field goal and the Eagles held on to win to improve to 7-2 while the Packers fall to 5-3-1.

The Eagles had a 4th down decision of their own and coach Sirriani decided to go for the first down with 33 seconds on the clock but Hurts' pass to Brown fell incomplete which opened the door for the Packers to try and tie the game. 

The Packers would get the ball back and have a chance to tie or take the lead, but they faced a fourth and one and Josh Jacobs was eaten up in the backfield and the Packers turned it over on downs. 

Josh Jacobs punched the Packers into the end zone once urgency set in. They Packers followed the Eagles TD with a score to cut the lead to three with under 6:00 to go. Jacobs had 74 yards on 21 carries while Jordan Love had 176 yards on 20/36 passing. 

On the next play after the Barkley catch and run, it was Hurts going deep to DeVonta Smith who went up and caught the ball at it's highest point to give the Eagles a 10-0 lead with 10:30 to go. Hurts ended the game with 183 yards and this TD on 15/26 passing

Philly started the half with a field goal to put points on the board, but it took until the 4th quarter for the Eagles to come up with a big play. Saquon Barkley didn't do much in the run game, but this 41 yard catch and run with a spin included kept the Eagles drive alive and put PHI in GB territory. 

The Packers had a chance to put points on the board, but Jordan Love was hit in the backfield and lost the ball late in the first half and the game went to the break at 0-0 for the first time in 2 years in the NFL. 

The Philadelphia Eagles came off their BYE week and had to go to Lambeau for a showdown with another one of the top teams it the NFC. It was a defensive showcase from Green Bay and the Eagles just barley held on to the win. 

It wasn't an ugly start to the game. There was just some really good defense being played. The Eagles were driving down the field on their opening possesion but Jalen Hurts was stripped on this scramble and the Packers came up with the first big defensive play.

Just two highlights in that first half and they both came from the defensive end. The Eagles were driving down the field and in striking distance, but Hurts had the ball knocked out of his hands and GB came up with a big turnover.

Tundra is freezing over

You could see it all over the league this weekend. The seasons are starting to change and it’s starting to look like football weather in some of the colder weather cities in the NFL. Chicago had a winter mix of snow and rain, New York was cold and rainy and tonight it’s going to be chilly in Green Bay. It won’t be the coldest day of the year on the Tundra, but there will be freezing temps at Lambeau tonight for this Monday night match. 

Tucker gone, Musgrave in

The Green Bay Packers took a huge hit a last week when their starting TE and the most reliable target for Jordan Love went down with a season ending injury against the Carolina Panthers. He led the Pack in receiving yards with 489 and six TDs, almost half of the 13 TD passes that Jordan Love has this season. The injury means Luke Musgrave is going to have to step up and fill the void left by Kraft. This year, he has 9 catches for 88 yards but has yet to find the end zone.

Last matchup between these two teams 

I think we all remember that Wild Card game between the Packers and the Eagles last year. After meeting in Week 1 of the regular season the two teams met in the opening round of the playoffs and it went down to the wire from Philly. Philly took a 10-0 lead in the fist quarter after Hurts connected with Jahan Dotson for an 11 yard TD pass less than two minutes into the game. Philly would kick a field goal to make it a two score lead but the scoring would halt until the final 20 minutes of the game. A GB FG brought them back to within a TD of Philly but just a couple plays later Hurts connected with Dallas Goedet on a 24 yard TD to take a 16-3 lead. Early in the 4th quarter, GB would close the lead to 6, but the defense held tight, forcing a turnovers on downs and an interception on the Packers final two drives and Philly took the opening round win on their way to their second Super Bowl win. 

NFC standings 

Taking a look at the NFC Standings we see things are awfully tight at the top of the conference. Tonight two division leaders face off as the Eagles come in at the top of the East while the Pack are leading the North. Philly has a commanding lead over the Cowboys who look like the only team that may be able to compete with Philly and Green Bay have a slight advantage over Detroit and Chicago but the North looks like, its back to being one of the best divisions in football. Speaking of great divisions the West have two seven win teams and a six win team though 10 weeks of the season. The playoff races are just heating up and who knows who is going to be in the hunt for the one seed, but this game tonight could hold a lot of weight in who ends up getting the top seed, a first round BYE and home field advantage in the playoffs. 

Packers star watch 

The Packers looked like one of the most balanced teams in the league for the first few games of the season but there have been some consistency problems for the Packers that we can’t over look. The defense has looked pretty good aside from the 40-40 tie against the Cowboys, but the offense has had good days and bad days. In their two losses they have scored 10 points against the Browns, and 13 points against the Panthers. Jordan Love knows that if he gives the defense a cushion to protect, GB has a great chance of winning games. Love has 2,071 yards passing, 13 TDs and just 3 INTs while completing 70.8% of his passes. This was supposed to be his year to take that next step and take the Packers on a deep playoff run. Games like tonight’s will show us if he is ready to make that step. 

Eagles star watch 

Was it just the jump off point for Saquon Bakley? That’s the question Eagles will be hoping to see answered tonight in Lambeau after the reigning Offensive Player of the Year went off for 150 yards in the Eagles last game. Last year he rushed for 2,005 yards and 13 TDs, but this year he has just 519 yards and four TDs through the first half of the season. Last game was his first 100+ yard game of the season, but maybe just maybe Barkley, Hurts and new offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo are getting on the same page. 

Packers last game 

The Packers had been playing just well enough to get past their opponents over the last month, but last week nothing went their way against the Carolina Panthers who went into to Lambeau and stunned the Pack. Carolina ran all over the Green Bay defense, and even though Jordan Love and the offense out gained the Panthers by 100 yards, the Packers went 1/5 in the red zone. The Packers tied the game up with just over 2:30 to go in the 4th quarter, but Carolina would walk it off with a game winning FG as time expired. 

Eagles last game 

The Eagles had the week off, but before their BYE the Eagles had a division match up against the New York Giants and it was Saquon Barkley’s turn to come to life after a slow first half of the season. He broke loose for 150 yards rushing on just 14 carries and the Eagles cruised to a 38-20 victory to head into their BYE week at the top of the division with a 6-2 record.
