Falcons - Eagles betting trends: Pick, odds, point spread and over/under prediction | NFL week 2 MNF
Philadelphia, known for its assertive home-field advantage at Lincoln Financial Field, will confront a dynamic Atlanta team with a fresh offensive approach.
After Week 1′s results, it’s common to overreact. The Atlanta Falcons, who were expected to win the NFC South, are looking to bounce back after a tough 18-10 home loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. In his first game with Atlanta, Quarterback Kirk Cousins had a tough time, completing 16 of 26 passes for just 155 yards, with one touchdown and two interceptions.
The looming question is: Can Cousins and the Falcons make a comeback against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football?
Falcons - Eagles: betting trends
In the upcoming game, Philadelphia is favored by six points, and the total points are set at 47. The Eagles performed well in Week 1, securing a victory against the Green Bay Packers. Saquon Barkley, the running back, stood out by scoring three touchdowns, and the Eagles easily exceeded their team total.
In Week 1, Cousins struggled partly because of the challenges of adapting to a new team, system, and coaching staff after an offseason injury. However, facing the Eagles on the road at Lincoln Financial Field will be an even more formidable challenge.
Philadelphia has one of the NFL’s top offensive lines, ranked No. 2 by Pro Football Focus. In contrast, Atlanta’s defensive line is ranked No. 28. This mismatch in the trenches could cause problems for the Falcons, who might have difficulty containing the Eagles’ rushing attack.
Barkley, who was instrumental in the Eagles’ Week 1 win, has already seen his anytime touchdown prop priced out of range for bettors, but Philadelphia’s team total remains an appealing bet. Given the Eagles’ dominant offensive line and Atlanta’s issues on defense, it’s likely that Philadelphia will be able to control the line of scrimmage and rack up points. The team total for the Eagles sits at 27, a target they could easily hit based on their recent form.
While much of the focus will be on whether Cousins can improve in Week 2, his performance may not ultimately affect the outcome. Even if Cousins plays better, the Eagles’ offense appears poised to dictate the game.
The best bet for Monday night’s contest seems to be the Eagles covering their team total. Philadelphia looks to keep rolling while Atlanta searches for answers on both sides of the ball.
