Pitts got TD number two with this gorgeous pass from Cousins to put the Falcons up 14-10 late in the half. Cousins has 156 yards and 2 TDs on 12/16 passing. PItts has 111 yards and 2 TDs in what looking like a career night. 

The Falcons would answer back with a TD drive that was capped off by Kyle Pitts on the crossing route to tie the game up. 

The Bucs were the first ones in the end zone with Tucker taking it in for a TD as the home team got on the board early in the 1st half. TB has 53 yards on the ground led by Irving with 25 yards. 

Mayfield has 145 yards on 9/19 passing but the Bucs trail at the half.

What's next Falcons

The Falcons have no shot at getting to the playoffs, but they have a chance to play spoiler for the rest of the season. That starts with their game tonight against the Bucs. Next week they have a game against the Cardinals that won’t matter for either because both of those teams are out of playoff contention already. Then they wrap up the season with two home games against the Rams and the Saints. 

What's next Bucs

The Bucs maybe on a downward spiral at the moment, and they may be tied with the Carolina Panthers at 7-6 at the top of the NFC South, but we basically start a new season from this week on. The Bucs have this game against the Falcons and then two of their next three games will be against the Carolina Panthers. Next week they play the Panthers in Carolina before heading to Miami to take on the Dolphins. Then they finish the season at home with what could be a winner take all Week 18 match up against Carolina. 

Baker gets his guys back

The problems the Bucs have had with their WR can not be over stated. There have been games in which Baker has been throwing to guys that are way down the depth chart. Tonight, he should be getting both Mike Evans and Jalen McMillan back from injury after both WRs have been activated from the injured reserve. Evans as played just four games this season as he's battled through injury all season and for the past couple of seasons. McMillan has yet to play a game this season but had a productive rookie season last year. 

NFC Standings 

Taking a look at the NFC Standings, we see the NFC North as one of the weakest divisions in football. That’s been the case quite some time as a matter of fact. The Bucs are in the lead, but currently have the same record at the Carolina Panthers. The Falcons are three games back of both of them and even a miracle won’t get them into the playoffs. It’s looking like it’s going to be just one team heading to the playoffs out of this division with the Wild Card looking like a long shot for a couple of 7-6 teams. Those spots are likely to go to the Seahawks/Niners/Rams/Bears or Lions or Packers who are all in much better position than they the Bucs or Panthers. 

Star watch: Bucs

It seems like a long time ago, but there was a moment in this season that Baker Mayfield was considered to be the early season MVP favorite. Those days are gone and he has dropped out of the race following the Bucs slump over the last month. It's hard to point the finger at Mayfield who was winning games in incredible fashion despite playing with a decimated WR corps. If the Bucs are going to make it to the playoffs it’s going to be up to their QB who has passed for 2,722 yards, 20 TDs and just 6 INTs. 

Star watch: Falcons  

It's been far from a great season for the Falcons which means the spotlight has once again been stripped from one of the best and most dynamic running backs in the league. Bijan Robinson already has his 1,000 yard season, and has another 600 yards receiving with 7 total TDs. The wild thing is that he has only had four games in which the Falcons have handed the ball off to him more than 20 times. In three of four of those games he’s gone over 100 yards. Tonight, expect a heavy dose of Robinson against the Bucs. 

Last game: Bucs 

The Bucs had one of those inexplicable games in which they lost at home against a 2 win Saints team with a rookie quarterback and not much to play for. It was a rough day for Baker Mayfield who went just 14/30 for a TD and in INT, and he was out done by the rookie Tyler Shough who passed for 144 yards, but had two TD rushes in the second half. The second of which put New Orleans up 24-17 midway though the 4th quarter. Despite a Bucs field goal to cut the lead to three, Tampa couldn't do anything with their next possession and turned it over on downs to hand New Orleans their third loss of the year. 

Last game: Falcons

The Falcons ran into a freight train called the Seattle Seahawks last week, and even though they kept Seattle within striking distance for the first half, Sam Darnold and the offense got hot out of the break and laid it on the Falcons in Atlanta. Rashid Shaheed took the open kickoff of the third quarter to the house and the set the tone for Seattle for the rest of the day. Darnold would throw three second half TDs and 249 yards as the Falcons got blown out 37-9 for their seventh loss in their last eight games.

Hello everyone and welcome to Tampa where the Bucs are back home for a third straight game desperately needing a win to stay ahead of the Carolina Panthers in the divisional race. They have dropped four of their last five games, and now welcome a Falcons team who have won just one game in their last eight. They haven shot at the playoffs but tonight they are looking to play spoiler against a team they don't particularly get along with.
