Fans tear Eagles coach Nick Sirianni apart after loss to Falcons

The Eagles lost in stunning fashion to the Falcons in primetime following a questionable decision by Sirianni to throw at 3rd and 3 and he’s being berated.

The Atlanta Falcons came back and beat the Philadelphia Eagles 22-21 at the last minute during Monday Night Football’s NFC Showdown in Philly.

With two minutes left in the game, the Eagles were in the lead by three points and had the ball at the Falcons’ 10-yard line. At 3rd down and 3, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni thought it was a good idea to throw the ball instead of run it, despite the fact that the Falcons had no timeouts left.

Jalen Hurts threw a perfectly catchable pass to Saquon Barkley, but he dropped it, stopping the clock and giving about 40 more seconds to the Falcons for them to try to make a comeback. Then, on 4th and 4, Sirianni decided not to go for it, instead electing to kick a field goal and extend the lead to six points.

Oops.

Kirk Cousins utilized that extra gifted time and threw the game-winning pass to Drake London with just 34 seconds left. Sure, the Eagles could have made something happen after that, but instead Hurts threw an interception, sealing the victory for the Falcons.

Social media reactions to Sirianni after Falcons loss

The backlash on Sirianni after the game was ruthless. Especially considering the arrogance Sirianni sometimes shows, this loss and decision making did not bode well for him.
