Fantasy Football team of the week: NFL 2022 Week 5

Week five of fantasy football left us with some great games and lots of fun for all fantasy players

NFL WEEK 5
AS USA

We are up and running, and things are settled. Trends are starting to become a reality, and we focus on the important aspect of the season, Fantasy Football. Week five had one name above all: Austin Ekeler, the Chargers RB, was on fire. He had 16 attempts, 173 rush yards, and one rushing TD. While receiving, he had 26 yards and one touchdown. For all fantasy managers, he scored 35.90 pts.

Yes, we know Tom Brady had help; we know he was not roughed and that it was a fair tackle. But how about that Leonard Fournette, 35.90 pts for the Bucks RB. Fournette rushed 14 times for 56 yards and one touchdown. Securing 10 of 11 targets for 83 yards.

We’ve always thought WRs were the way to score points, but RBs are proving that not to be the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

As per our QBs, Josh Allen took this week’s MVP. The Buffalo player put up 35.16 pts this weekend, guiding his team to a trashing of the Steelers by 3-38. He had 348 passing yards in the first half, the second-most since 1991.

Don’t miss our recommendation of the week: Taysom Hill. The Saints TE had 34.08 pts for nine attempts, 112 rush yards, and three rushing touchdowns. Watch for Hill to overtake Michael Thomas with a foot injury.

The team of the week:

  • QB Josh Allen (Buffalo) 35.16
  • RB Austin Ekeler (Chargers) 35.90
  • RB Leonard Fournette (Tampa) 35.90
  • WR Gabe Davis (Buffalo) 32.10
  • WR Justin Jefferson (Vikings) 30.32
  • TE Taysom Hill (Saints) 34.08
  • W/T Tyler Lockett (Seahawks) 27.40
  • K Nick Folk (Patriots) 17.00
  • DEF Patriots 22.00

Total points: 269.86

A low-scoring week, and no big surprises. There is still time for managers to get back in the game if things haven’t started as they wanted.
