Fantasy Football team of the week: NFL 2023 Week 5
The Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase are the two highest-scored Fantasy Football players this week.
On Sunday, the Buffalo Bills faced off against the Jacksonville Jaguars, with the Bills quarterback Josh Allen putting up impressive numbers despite his team’s loss. Allen completed 27 out of 40 passes for 359 yards and two touchdowns but also threw an interception. In addition to his passing performance, he ran for 14 yards and scored another touchdown on four carries.
The Bills had a rough start to the game, possibly due to their recent travel to London. However, Allen delivered a touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs late in the second quarter, avoiding a first-half shutout. Although the Bills tried to make a comeback in the second half, their efforts fell short.
Despite the loss, Allen has been on a roll lately, scoring 13 touchdowns in the last four games, 10 through the air and three on the ground. He is expected to continue his strong performance in Week 6 against the New York Giants, who have struggled this season.
Ja’Marr Chase
Meanwhile, in another game on Sunday, the Cincinnati Bengals faced off against the Arizona Cardinals, with the Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase putting up a stunning performance. Chase caught 15 out of 19 targets for 192 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Bengals to a 34-20 victory.
This game marked a turning point for Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, who looked much healthier than he had all season. With Tee Higgins out due to injury, Chase became the primary target for Burrow. Although this was Chase’s first three-touchdown game of the season, he has already caught over 140 yards and double-digit passes twice in the last five games. He has been targeted 43 times, resulting in 406 yards and three touchdowns over the past three games.
Chase’s performance has been impressive, and he is expected to continue playing at a high level in Week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks, who have a vulnerable secondary defense. The Seahawks have already allowed four different receivers to surpass 100 yards this season, which may enable Chase to shine again.
