NFL I FANTASY
Fantasy Football top scorers by position: NFL 2024 Week 3
The third week of NFL still had some breakout players, one wide receiver in particular that you’ll want to add to your roster right away.
Another week down in the NFL and you should be starting to get a good idea of which players are fantasy duds and which have staying potential by now. This week, the overall top scorer was San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings, who you may or may not have picked up after Week 2. If so, you were rewarded with an 11-catch, 175-yard, three-touchdown performance for a whopping 46.5 fantasy points. If not, you may want to go and grab him from the waiver wire now.
Other players of note in Week 3 include New York Giants WR Malik Nabers, who became the first player in NFL history with at least 20 receptions and three touchdown catches in his first three career games. He’s becoming one of the top receivers in the league. Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins made his much-anticipated return on Monday, but didn’t have a big game. He caught just three of six targets for 39 yards in their loss to the Washington Commanders. As it was his first game back, we can expect he’ll improve on that in the weeks to come.
Let’s take a look at all the top scorers from Week 3 of the NFL.
NFL Fantasy Week 3 top scorers
*These scores are based on the default NFL-Managed scoring within the NFL Fantasy platform.
Fantasy Week 3 top scorers - Quarterbacks
Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen led the quarterbacks in fantasy points with 30.92 in Week 3 after his stellar performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday Night Football. He threw for four touchdowns to four different receivers in the first half alone to take a commanding 34-3 lead. He ended the game with a 77% completion percentage for 263 yards and four touchdowns and added six carries for 44 yards. Through the first three games, the Bills are undefeated and Allen has yet to throw a pick.
Fantasy Week 3 top scorers - Running Backs
The top scorer for the running backs in Week 3 was Philadelphia Eagles’ Saquon Barkley with 33.6 points. It was another great week for Barkley’s fantasy managers as he recorded the second-fastest ball-carrier speed of the season during a 65-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. He ended the game with two touchdowns and 147 yards on the ground, plus four receptions and a two-point conversion run.
Fantasy Week 3 top scorers - Wide Receivers
As we mentioned earlier, 49ers’ Jauan Jennings was not only the top scoring wide receiver, but also the top scorer overall with 46.5 fantasy points in Week 3. With both WR Deebo Samuel and TE George Kittle out of the game, Jennings acted as the WR1 and now leads the Niners in receiving this season. He is still available in a large percentage of leagues, so snatch him up while you still can.
Fantasy Week 3 top scorers - Tight Ends
Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert led the way at his position with 27 fantasy points in Week 3. This one is surprising as Goedert entered the game with just seven catches on the season. But by halftime, he matched that total and ended the game with 10 catches on 11 targets and a career high 170 receiving yards. With A.J. Brown out of the game and DeVonta Smith eventually sidelined, his targets went up even more than expected and it could stay that way into next week.
Fantasy Week 3 top scorers - Kickers
Denver Broncos kicker Wil Lutz made four field goals and two extra-point attempts in their win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to lead all kickers in fantasy points for Week 3 with 14. Lutz is on a perfect streak this season, having yet to miss a single field goal try or extra point attempt.
Fantasy Week 3 top scorers - Defenses
The Green Bay Packers led the defenses in fantasy points by a landslide in Week 3 with a total 21 points. In their 30-14 win over the Tennessee Titans, the Packers defense had eight sacks on Titans quarterback Will Levis, picked off two of his passes, and returned one for a touchdown. The Packers defense under new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley has recorded at least two interceptions in the first three games.
