NFL I FANTASY
Fantasy Football top scorers by position: NFL 2024 Week 6
With NFL Week 6 in the bag, there were plenty of surprises - both good and bad. Here were the top fantasy scorers of the week.
Another NFL week has come and gone and even in Week 6, there were players having breakout games. With Rachaad White on the sidelines, Tampa Bay running back Sean Tucker went off for 14 carries, 136 yards, and a touchdown. Drake Maye took over as quarterback for the New England Patriots and although they ended up losing by 20 points, he fared pretty well, with wide receiver DeMario Douglas on the receiving end of the majority of his targets. It’s starting to look like Los Angeles Chargers RB J.K. Dobbins is their new RB1, Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis has become their biggest offensive problem, and the New Orleans Saints have completely lost their early-season spark.
Every week brings something new in the NFL. With all that said, here are the top fantasy scorers from Week 6 at each position (scores based on PPR formats).
NFL Fantasy Week 6 top scorers
Fantasy Week 6 top scorers - Quarterbacks
The top-scoring quarterback from Week 6 is Chicago Bears’ Caleb Williams with 28.64 fantasy points. Williams crossed the pond and stomped the Jacksonville Jaguars. He finished with 226 passing yards and four touchdowns to just one interception. While the Jags are terrible on defense (they’ve allowed the most fantasy points to opposing QBs this season), Williams does seem to finally be finding his groove in Chicago.
Fantasy Week 6 top scorers - Running Backs
Tampa Bay running back Sean Tucker was far and away the top scorer of the week with 34.20 fantasy points. He got his shot with White on the bench and stole the show from Bucky Irving. Tucker scored a 36-yard receiving touchdown early in the game and ended up with 136 rushing yards, 56 receiving yards, and two touchdowns on 17 touches. Tucker was added to the Bucs offense as a free agent last season and didn’t make much impact. Will he have a game like this again? Probably only if White or Irving aren’t in the lineup. Still, he’s worth keeping an eye on after that performance.
Fantasy Week 6 top scorers - Wide Receivers
Another Bucs’ player leads the rankings for fantasy top scorers. Wide receiver Chris Godwin had the most fantasy points, not only at his position, but of all NFL players in Week 6 with 35.50 points. In the Bucs’ 51-27 beating of the Saints, Godwin contributed 11 receptions on 13 targets, 125 yards, and two touchdowns. Since he switched to a slot-heavy role, Godwin’s seen steady improvement, with at least five receptions in every game so far this season.
Fantasy Week 6 top scorers - Tight Ends
Chicago Bears’ Cole Kmet led the tight ends in fantasy points in Week 6 with 24. During his 57 snaps, Kmet brought in all five of his targets for 70 yards and two touchdowns in the Bears’ win over the Jags in London. His chemistry with QB Caleb Williams is starting to heat up and offensive coordinator Shane Waldron seems to be leaning into allowing Kmet to play a bigger role.
Fantasy Week 6 top scorers - Kickers
Lions kicker Jake Bates leads his position in Week 6 fantasy scoring with 17 points. After going two straight weeks without a field goal, Bates made all four of his field goal attempts against the Dallas Cowboys plus all five of his extra point attempts. The Lions are currently averaging 30.2 points per game, so Bates is likely to remain a top scorer each week.
Fantasy Week 6 top scorers - Defenses
In that same brutal beating of the Dallas Cowboys, the Detroit Lions defense put up their best performance in over a decade, leading the defenses in fantasy scoring with 18 total points. They recorded four sacks, 11 quarterback hits, and two interceptions. Unfortunately, it came at a cost as defensive end Aidan Hutchinson suffered a gnarly injury that’s likely to end his season.
