Update:

We’re now three weeks into the NFL season, and it’s not only becoming clearer which teams look like serious contenders, but also which players we can count on to start each week in fantasy, and those we can count on to start against certain opponents.

These were the top fantasy scorers for Week 3 of the 2025 NFL season.

Fantasy Football Week 3: Top scorers

Quarterback

Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears - 29.12

At this point, starting any quarterback facing the Dallas defense is probably a safe bet. Williams exploited Dallas’ zone-heavy defense with multiple explosive plays, including two 30+ yard TDs in the first quarter, marking the Bears’ first win of 2025. In the end, he completed 19 of 28 passes for 298 yards and four touchdowns. He was never sacked and threw no interceptions.

Running Back

Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts - 32.80

Taylor continued his fantastic start to the season on Sunday in the Colts’ win over the Tennessee Titans. Taylor had 17 carries for 102 yards and three touchdowns and is now the lead fantasy back with 338 total rushing yards for the season. The Colts remain undefeated and Taylor remains a solid weekly start.

Wide Receiver

Tre Tucker, Las Vegas Raiders - 40.90

Not only was Tucker the highest-scoring receiver. He was the highest-scoring player by a long shot with 40.9 fantasy points. It doesn’t matter at all that the last touchdown was scored in garbage time- just matters that it was his third score and for 61 yards. In all, Tucker had eight catches for 145 yards and should remain a solid start at least until Brock Bowers is back, but maybe even after.

Tight End

Hunter Henry, New England Patriots - 29.00

The Pats may have lost, but Henry managers won. Henry was one of the only bright spots in New England’s loss to the Panthers on Sunday as he hauled in eight catches for 90 yards and two touchdowns, leading the rest of the receivers by a landslide.

Kicker

Chase McLaughlin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 21.00

In the Bucs’ narrow win over the Jets on Sunday, McLaughlin scored 17 of their 29 points - he made five of six field goal attempts and both extra point tries and two of his field goals were made from 50+ yards. His one miss was blocked and returned for a touchdown, but it was the following play that brought the Bucs back into range for him to try again, and it was his last field goal from 36 that won the game for Tampa Bay.

Defense

Minnesota Vikings - 30.00

The Vikings were up against a Burrow-less Bengals and their defense dominated the Cincinnati offense. The Minnesota defense overwhelmed QB Jake Browning in a 48-10 rout. Browning never found a rhythm as the Vikings’ pass rush and coverage smothered Cincinnati’s offense. A costly pick-six set the tone early, and the defense continued to pile on stops while keeping Minnesota comfortably in control. In addition to the pick-six, they notched another interception and four sacks.
