Fastest to 50: Rams’ Puka Nacua makes NFL history
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua is in just his third year in the NFL and he’s already making history, having broken a record on Thursday.

The Los Angeles Rams lost their Thursday Night Football game against divisional rivals San Francisco 49ers in Week 5, but wide receiver Puka Nacua continues to win in personal achievements. He is off to a historic start, having set a new record during Thursday’s game.
Puka Nacua is already chasing Megatron - Yes, really
After torching defenses for 503 yards in the first four weeks, the third-year receiver added another 10 catches for 85 yards and a touchdown against the 49ers on Thursday Night Football. That performance pushed him to 50 receptions on the season - the fastest any player in NFL history has hit that mark.

Drafted in the fifth round out of BYU in 2023, Nacua has quickly established himself as one of the league’s most reliable playmakers, already drawing comparisons to Calvin Johnson as he chases the single-season receiving yardage record (1,964 yards), set in 2012. Even in his rookie season, Nacua made an impact with 105 catches for 1,486 yards and six touchdowns.
Though the Rams fell 26-23 in overtime to the 49ers, Nacua’s breakout continues to be one of the brightest storylines of the NFL season.
