Four more years! Cowboys extend Osa Odighizuwa

The Dallas Cowboys were expected to use the franchise tag on defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa if they couldn’t agree to a long-term deal before the March 4 deadline. That won’t be necessary.
Cowboys extend Odighizuwa
Instead, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Cowboys have signed Odighizuwa to a four-year, $80 million contract ($20 million annually) with $58 million guaranteed and a $20 million signing bonus.
The Cowboys drafted Odighizuwa in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft and signed him to a four-year deal worth around $5 million, earning him around $1.3 million a year. So this is quite the raise for the 26-year-old.
Odighizuwa is coming off a career best season with 4.5 sacks and 47 tackles. He would’ve been a hot commodity in free agency, but Dallas was wise to lock him down rather than using the tag on him. The tag, though only good for one year, would’ve earned him around $25.1 million in 2025.
