Streaming service Netflix has made a big move into the world of NFL, snapping up the rights for the 2024 NFL games in Christmas Day. However, they haven’t been able to secure the services of seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady for their broadcast team, which they had desperately been hoping to do.

Which NFL games will Netflix be showing on Christmas Day 2024? How much did they pay for them?

Two NFL games are taking place on Christmas Day this year, both of which will be shown on Netflix. First up is the game between reigning Super Bowl champions the Kansas City Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium. That game starts at 1pm ET.

Then, at 4:30pm ET, the Houston Texans host the Baltimore Ravens at NRG Stadium. Netflix reportedly paid $150 million for the privilege of showing the two games.

To mark their football debut, the streaming service had been hoping to entice Brady, the biggest name in the sport, to join them for their coverage of the two games, according to the New York Post. But the 47-year-old, of course, has just started his first year of a a 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox Sports, who have rejected Netflix’s request of a loan for the day. Kevin Burkhardt was also on their wish list.

Who will cover the Christmas Day 2024 NFL games for Netflix?

With three months to go, there has been no confirmation as to who any of the members of the broadcast team will be.

Sources, though, have told the New York Post that Netflix is now targeting CBS Sports duo Ian Eagle and Nate Burleson, NBC’s Noah Eagle and Greg Olsen, also of Fox.

CBS Sports will be producing the two Christmas Day games for Netflix as a third party, which means they may be inclined to allow Ian Eagle and Burleson to be involved.
