From football to music? Shilo Sanders shares what’s next
Sanders’ NFL career didn’t last long after the Buccaneers released him following a preseason ejection. He’s opened up about his potential new career path.

Shilo Sanders’ NFL journey hit a roadblock after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers released him following a preseason ejection. The former Colorado safety went undrafted initially, but the Bucs took a chance on him. He didn’t last long in the league. In the Bucs’ final preseason game, he was ejected for fighting, and the team released him the next day.
But Sanders isn’t worried about his future, as he says he is considering several different career paths as possibilities.
“God blessed me with more than football”
Sanders says he’s open to another shot in the league but is also considering new career paths in music, modeling, or acting.
“I’ll be talking to my agent and we’re waiting on the next opportunity,” Sanders said. “If that’s in the NFL, cool, but God has blessed me with a lot of talent to do things other than football.”
Represented by high-profile agents Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey, Sanders insists he’s grateful for the opportunity and believes the setback is just part of his story. His father, Colorado coach Deion Sanders, echoed that confidence, saying Shilo has many talents beyond football and will be fine with or without the NFL.
“He is mentally where he needs to be, physically where he needs to be,” Deion said. “We’re praying that he gets another opportunity to go with a team. But if he doesn’t, the plans have already been put forward to what he’s going to do next.”

“Shilo is a man of many talents. He’s a man of many talents, and he’s gonna be straight. All the Sanders are gonna be straight, with or without football,” he went on. “You better believe that. I take care of mine, and I always have. And y’all know what I mean.”
