Update:

The NFL and ESPN announced that they would be making a deal that gave ESPN control over the NFL Network as well as NFL RedZone. That left many fans wondering what would happen to longtime host Scott Hanson. On Tuesday, when the deal became official, he calmed fans’ fears, confirming that he would continue as host.

As part of the deal, the NFL now owns a 10% stake in ESPN. Fans were initially uncertain about Hanson’s future, but he confirmed on social media that he’s staying on, expressing excitement for the upcoming season and optimism about the new collaboration.

“It’s official,” Hanson wrote on X. “(& for those wondering: yes, I will still be hosting RedZone.) Fired up for a great season! Optimistic about this new partnership! (& I get to call @AdamSchefter ‘colleague’ for the 2nd time in my career… nice bonus!)”

Hanson has been the host of RedZone since its beginning in 2009 and has since become the face and voice fans associate with their commercial-free football Sundays. His confirmation that he’ll stay ensures the return of eight hours of commercial-free football under Hanson’s beloved guidance.
