He said, she said, Housh said: Sports Illustrated mix up lands Joe Mixon in hot water, NFL sticks with fine
Houston Texans RB Joe Mixon had a fine applied by the NFL lifted only to be fined again for a quote he did say after the game against the Chiefs.

Will they or won’t they? In the end, the NFL will fine Joe Mixon after comments made about the officiating after the AFC Divisional Round game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Houston Texans.
“Housh” said it?
The former Cincinnati Bengal was originally fined for something he didn’t say by the NFL. In their explanation for the fine, the league cited a quote from a Sports Illustrated article which mistakenly attributed the quote to the Texans running back.
The quote cited in the article was actually a post on social media written by former Cincinnati Bengals T.J. Housmandzadeh after the Chiefs win on Sunday that sent them to their seventh straight AFC Championship.
Why play the game if every 50/50 call goes with Chiefs. These officials are 🗑🗑🗑🗑 & bias

“Why play the game if every 50/50 call goes with the Chiefs. These officials are (trash) & bias” wrote “Housh” who has been retired since the 2011 season. The mix up has been redacted by Sports Illustrated, and the NFL lifted the fine only to reapply the fine citing a quote he did say to reporters after the game.
Appeal to come
After the game Mixon was quoted as saying “Everybody knows how it is playing up here. You can never leave it into the refs' hands,” the running back continued. “The whole world sees, man, what it is. When it comes down to it, you can never leave it into the refs' hands. It’s all good, though.”

There were a few calls that some feel went the Chiefs way in the first and third quarter of the game when the Texans were flagged for personal fouls that cost Houston 15 yards in drives which led to two scoring drives for the two time champions.

According to Mixon and his agent Peter Schaffer, the fine will be appealed, but Mixon didn’t miss the chance to land the last word in before the appeal. “So let me get this straight NFL fines me 25k for something I didn’t even say,” Mixon said. “Call them out for it, and their response was fine me AGAIN for something that’s not even a violation without even rescinding the first one. Where’s the accountability? Just respect the players.”
