Although he is no longer the highest-paid player or even quarterback in the league, Herbert still ranks in the top 10, with six others having surpassed him since being given the deal.
At 27 years old, Herbert has already made a name for himself in NFL history. In his rookie season, he won Offensive Rookie of the Year and was selected to play in the Pro Bowl the following year. In his sixth season with the Chargers, Herbert has thrown for 21,908 yards and 143 touchdowns.
He achieved the remarkable feat of throwing over 3,870 yards and 23 touchdown passes in his last seasons in the league, making him the 9th in passing yards an 12th in passing touchdowns in the NFL 2024/25 season.
